The premium symbols pay between 2 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and viking ship Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. The wild pays up to 100x your stake should you land 5 wilds on a payline. Wilds appear on reel 5 only though, and they turn into walking wilds that move one reel to the left per spin that follows until they move off the leftmost reel.

You can land Coin symbols that come with prizes between 1 and 100 x your stake, and coins can also land with one of the jackpot prizes on display on the left-hand side. The Kraken Reels feature can trigger at random times in all stages of the game as well, and a giant octopus will then expand the reels by adding up to +2 extra rows in the base game. It lasts for only 1 spin in the base game though. In the bonus round, however, it can expand the grid by up to +5 extra rows, and the grid remains expanded for the remainder of the bonus round.

The Valhalla Bonus Round triggers from 3 scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5, and this takes you to a pick screen. You get to choose between 2 viking characters, and your pick will reveal 4 coins with random cash prize values, as well as 8, 10, 15, or 20 free spins.

Whenever your chosen viking symbol appears during the bonus round, it comes as a 2x2 sized symbol that reveals the 4 coins you got in the pick game. You still need wilds in view to collect the coin prizes though, just to be clear.

There is both a Bonus Buy and a Bonus Gamble feature in this game, and this means that non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can take a shortcut into the feature. Review Summary

The combination of a static backdrop and thunderstorm effects works quite well, but Storm to Riches does not come with the most engaging visual presentation we’ve seen in a vikings slot. Coin symbols occupy prime “reel estate” when there are no wild symbols in view, and they can, of course, be elusive when you finally land a walking wild. Many times you get to collect coins only on a single spin from a ship's whole journey across the grid, but this can, of course, change according to your luck.

What keeps the tension up in all stages is the fact that you can also collect jackpot coins, and that these can pay up to 5,000x your stake per wild that’s in view to collect them. We like that the win cap is more than twice that, and it clocks in at a solid 11,000x your stake. This is pretty good for a medium volatile game, and it certainly helps elevate Storm to Riches to a more attractive level. The key to winning in this game is the walking collector wilds, and getting the expanded grid also helps. This is not least the case when it’s persistent in the bonus round, and this game might just grow on you if you give it a shot.
