This game is a cartoonish effort. The backdrop seems a bit generic, although you have a few potion bottles on the right-hand side. The quirky symbols do improve the visual presentation though, so the setting isn’t too much of a problem.

The number of wilds you need to collect to trigger the bonus round varies between 3 and 8 in the base game, but the threshold remains close to 8 most of the time. The feature is most likely to trigger when you land an Exploding Wild, as it awards up to +4 extra wilds. This is also how you’re most likely to increase the win multiplier in any significant way, and the only difference in the bonus round is the number of wilds needed to retrigger the feature with extra spins.

You need at least 3 matching adjacent symbols horizontally or vertically to win, and the premium symbols award between 2 and 15 x your stake for 5 of a kind. The yellow warning sign Wild pays 60x your stake for the same, and all wilds in the game step in for regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations.

The Rolling Reels feature removes all winning symbols from the grid, making room for new and/or existing symbols to drop down to fill the gaps. This process repeats as long as you keep winning, and each wild win increases the win multiplier by +1. The multiplier resets between both base game spins and free spins however, and the red warning sign Exploding Wild awards up to +4 randomly placed extra wilds on the next cascade if part of a winning combination.

Review Summary

We do like the cartoonish visual style and the robotic voice-over action commentary of Dr Wildshock: Mad Loot Lab, and it reminded us a bit of another cartoon for some reason. Having the progressive multiplier increase per wild win instead of per cascade is certainly original, but it also seems less effective. Luckily, the Exploding Wild feature is there to help you out in all stages of the game, and it’s also very helpful when it comes to triggering the bonus round.

Toxic waste seems to be leaking all over the place when the free spins round plays out, but nothing much else makes the feature stand out from the base game. It’s on average a tad easier to get extra spins though, due to the 5-6 wilds you need to collect compared to 3-8, but the name of the game is still increasing the wild win multiplier as much as possible to close in on the 25,000x potential.
