The theme of Rum and Raiders is all about pirates, which isn’t particularly original. At the same time, the designers invested a lot of effort into making things look really good here, and we do have to appreciate that. Rum and Raiders is definitely one of the best-looking pirate slots around, and its big animated pirate ship that’s in the background at all times is definitely rather impressive!

The math model of Rum and Raiders combines a medium-high volatility level with a massive 25,000x jackpot, which is more than fair enough. Everyone can enjoy the action, too, as the min bet is as low as £0.20 per spin. The max bet is then £20, which – again – is fair enough. As for the slot’s theoretical RTP, it can be in the vicinity of 88%, 94%, or 96%. The default RTP value is 96.08%, and you should spend some time looking around for that RTP version if you want to give Rum and Raiders a proper shot.

Rum and Raiders Slot Features

There are 9 pay symbols in Rum and Raiders, divided into 4 low pays and 5 high pays. The game’s low pays are pretty standard card ranks from Jacks to Aces, while the high pays are much more interesting with their pirates and even parrots.

There are two special symbols in the base game, Wilds and Scatters. Wilds even come with their own payout values, while Scatters are there to trigger both of the slot’s excellent gameplay features.

If you land 2 Scatters in view, you’ll trigger the Broadside Bonus feature, which is all about cannons firing cannonballs onto the playing field. Each round comes with 5 shots, and you’ll get just a single round to start with.

Cannonballs destroy various chests during the feature, and you can get bet multipliers, Skull symbols, and even extra rounds of cannonballs that way. Skull symbols double bet multipliers, and, if you fill an entire reel with symbols, you’ll unlock another reel on the side, to up to 2. Fill all the positions, and you’ll get an extra 100x payout as well!

If you land a set of 3 Scatters, you’ll trigger the Hold and Win feature, which comes with the basic formula of 3 starting respins that get reset whenever a symbol lands. You can also get additional reels as outlined above, to up to 2, and filling the entire board with symbols will net you an extra 500x payout.

Crucially, there are plenty of special symbols that can land – Captain symbols, Parrot symbols, 1st Mate symbols, Shooter symbols, and even Grog Boy symbols. Each special symbol comes with a special effect, too. Shooter symbols, for example, double the values of a random number of symbols, while Grog Boy symbols reactivate previously used special symbols.

To round things off, you can also use the Buy Feature option and get right to the Hold and Win feature. Doing so will cost you 95x your bet at the very least, but you can pay an extra to get a selected symbol to appear. Note that using the Buy feature option increases the slot’s theoretical RTP, so it’s not a bad deal at all.
