The Holiday season of 2022 has seen several highly playable and hilarious bad Santa installments, and we’re happy to see another one added to the Xmas pile. They have decided to reskin Scroll of Dead for their Christmas contribution this year, and Naughty Nick’s Book comes with a funny intro where a drunk Santa crashes on the couch after dumping down the chimney.
He smashes his bottle right “in your face” before falling fast asleep, and his elves seem to be fond of alcoholic beverages as well. The base game offers nothing special in terms of features, and the 6th reel is locked until you trigger the bonus round. The feature comes with a chosen expanding symbol, which is hardly unusual for a book slot, but the 7,500x potential is a bit higher than the standard 5,000x you get in most ‘book of’ installments.
Naughty Nick’s Book Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 50 and 500 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. When the 6th reel is opened up you can land 5-oak premium symbol wins between 100 and 750 x your stake, however. Review Summary
There are more exciting ‘book slots’ in their back catalog that could've been chosen for the seasonal Xmas reskin, and it’s a bit hard to understand why they decided to go with Scroll of Dead. It’s arguably better than the original Book of Dead, at least if you judge it purely from the math model point of view, but it doesn’t really come with any revolutionary twists or extras.
We do like the bad Santa angle, however, and the intro is hilarious. It competes with Saint Nicked and Cash Truck Xmas Delivery in that regard, but it cannot really match either in terms of the badass factor. The extra reel you get in the bonus round gives you a 7,500x single spin max win, and this is also the game’s win cap. At least you have a solid ‘book slot’ Xmas alternative with this release, even if it’s not the most exciting installment in the range.
