We’ve seen ancient Egypt so many times over the years that actually going there would probably be boring. Fortunately, however, the developers have managed to do things a tad differently with Mask of Amun. The giant pharaoh mask in the background makes the game stick out at first glance, and you’re not going on yet another expedition to a dark and dusty tomb for sure.
There is plenty of glitter and glamor in this game, not least when you win, and you can collect jackpots up to 2,500x your stake via the Sun Collect symbol in the base game. This helps keep up the tension in all stages, and it’s always nice to have options when the bonus round triggers. You get 2 options in this release, one traditional free spins round with multiplier wilds, and a more unique prize/jackpot collect feature.
Mask of Amun Slot Features
The high value symbols pay between 2 and 5 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and you get pyramid Wilds on reels 2 to 6 in the base game. The wilds step in for regular pay symbols to help complete wins, and wilds appear only on reels 3 and 4 in the bonus round.
Sun Collect symbols appear on reels 1 and 6 in the base game, and in the Gold Blitz Bonus Round. If you land a Sun Collect symbol at the same time as jackpot and/or cash symbols, these are all collected and paid. The jackpots are on display to the left, and the Minor, Major and Mega jackpots award 25x, 250x and 2,500x your stake, respectively.

Review Summary
The developers have not held back when it comes to confetti and effects in this game, which makes it stick out from run of the mill ancient Egypt installments, and the soundtrack is kind of enjoyable as well. It feels more like a trip to some gambling mecca like Las Vegas than yet another dusty tomb treasure hunt though, and we’re not sure whether or not that’s intentional.
The collect feature keeps that base game interesting, as solid prizes can be landed as long as at least 1 collect symbol appears (or from the 4,96 win ways). The bonus rounds options are not super original perhaps, but they are both entertaining features that can realistically crack the 5,000x potential. Having a guaranteed collect symbol is kind of neat, and the free spins round can go on for quite a while if you get extra spins.
