Lumberjack 2 Review

To be honest, we didn’t anticipate a game titled Lumberjack 2 when we initially reviewed the original Lumberjack slot. Yet, here we are, examining the sequel to a game that didn't particularly impress us. Is it an improvement over the original, or just more of the same? We're about to find out, beginning with the slot's layout. It features 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines, a fairly standard setup.

We previously criticized the original Lumberjack slot for its simplistic visuals, and unfortunately, we must do so again. Lumberjack 2 has a crude, childish appearance, detracting from the overall experience.

While details on the math model are limited, wagers range from £0.10 to £100 per spin. Sadly, the game’s theoretical RTP is only 94%, below the industry average.

Lumberjack 2 Slot Features

The Lumberjack 2 paytable contains 10 pay symbols, divided into 6 low pays and 4 high pays. The low pays are the typical card ranks, from Nines to Aces, awarding up to 16x your bet for a full combination. The high pays include foxes, lynxes, bears, and the lumberjacks themselves. Bears and lumberjacks pay out even with just two symbols, and five lumberjack symbols are worth 200x your bet.

Specials consist of Moon Wilds and Carriage Scatters. Moon Wilds can substitute for any pay symbol and act as Multiplier Wilds. Each Wild carries a 2x win multiplier, applied to all wins featuring that Wild. Multiple Moon Wilds in a single win can lead to a top 16x win multiplier!

Each winning combination triggers the removal of symbols from the board, replaced with new ones. This feature is labeled Tetris in the paytable, but it's essentially Cascades. It's unusual to have Cascades in a 20 payline slot, but it's a welcome addition.

Landing 3 Carriage Scatters on the middle reels triggers the Free Spins feature with 10 free spins. During free spins, winning combos are locked for respins, continuing as long as the overall payout is improved.

Review Summary

Lumberjack 2 offers numerous gameplay features, but the crude graphics and low 94% RTP are drawbacks. While more enjoyable than the original Lumberjack slot, it lacks the polish needed for a recommendation.
