Los Cuatro Esqueletos translates to ‘The 4 Skeletons’, in case that wasn’t clear, and the Day of the Dead Mariachi band consists of 2 male and 2 female skeletons. This theme was made popular years ago with an instant classic, and Los Cuatro Esqueletos is a far more static game in that regard. You get some okay animations here and there, and, of course, some cheerful Mariachi music, but there is nothing really new to see here.

Everything is built around the well-known ‘book slot’ mechanic, and nothing much happens in the base game except wild/scatter collection. This will eventually lead to a Super Bonus Round where you get 2 special expanding symbols from the upfront pick game, while the regular bonus round gives you only 1 pick. The 10,000x potential is above average for the ‘book of’ genre though, but the 94 % top-tier RTP is below average.

Well, we have seen far better Day of the Dead slots for sure, and the same can be said about ‘book slots’. A tough genre was picked to compete in, although there aren’t too many slots that combine this festive theme with the ‘book of’ mechanic. That’s the biggest selling point, really, but the math model is not really doing this release any favors. We are thinking about the top-tier 94 % RTP in particular, as there are far better alternatives out there.

The regular bonus round has been seen countless times before, of course, but the expanding symbols animation is neatly done nonetheless. You need to stay loyal for a while to benefit from the super version of the bonus round, and it’s not really all that tempting due to the lower than average theoretical returns.
