It is historically accurate that gladiators would sometimes fight wild animals instead of each other in the Colosseum. These animals would include tigers, elephants, rhinos, bears, and even giraffes. Sometimes the animals fought each other as well, but we are unsure if they got golden plate armors while doing so. At least the horse and the bear are armored up in this release, as well as the legionnaire wild symbol.

You don’t get to see any actual fighting though, like in some gladiator releases, but the visual presentation is overall solid anyhow. Nothing too exciting happens in the base game though, so you’re waiting to trigger either the Gold Re-spins round or the Mega Symbol Bonus Round. The first is a streak respins feature, while the latter is a free spins round that comes with a 3x3 sized mega symbol that moves to a new position per spin.

The visual quality is great, and it’s fun to see a bear dressed up with golden armor. This is not the most original release, and the low to medium volatility is a tell-tale sign that this release is aimed at casual punters.

Nothing wrong with a mid-range release once in a while, and you get the streak respins feature and the bonus round on a regular basis. There’s nothing too innovative going on in either of the bonus features though, but the roaming mega symbol is admittedly a somewhat original touch. It will keep you guessing per spin at least, but the mediocre 2,000x potential might not please high-rollers and more serious gamblers. Anyway, Legion Gold has its moments, and the win cap hit rate is a decent 1 in 50 million spins.
