When the king is absent, as seems to be the case in this game, the knights may engage in some internal conflict to perhaps re-establish dominance. We’re not really sure if the king is truly gone, as he could be the top-tier knight in the shining golden armor. It’s hard to tell, as the game is not known for providing backstories, nor elaborate paytable info.

Anyway, you get solid medieval visuals, and the presentation comes across as a blending of different styles. You get an unusually solid 17,729x potential in Knights of Avalon. It revolves around the Knights Drop feature, which comes with multipliers up to x5 per knight in the bonus round. The in-fighting leads to symbol transformations in all stages of the game.

Knights of Avalon Slot Features

The knight premium symbols, of which there are 4, pay between 1 and 2.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. You can also land the golden lion Wild symbol anywhere, and it substitutes for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. Landing 5 wilds on the same payline awards 2.5x your stake, but the wild does not pay for less than 5 of a kind wins.

The Knights Drop feature can trigger at any given time, and this will drop up to 6 knight premium symbols of the same kind onto random positions on the grid. The Knights Drop knights will fight other knight symbols after the reels stop, and this can transform them into the same type as you got from the Knight Drop feature. This may lead to a larger win.

You need 3 scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and scatters appear on reels 1, 3, and 5 in the base game. This gives you 7 free spins, and you get +1 extra spin per scatter that appears in the bonus round. You have an increased likelihood of getting the Knights Drop feature during free spins, and the Knights Drop knights may also come with multipliers up to x5 attached to further boost any win.

The Bonus Buy menu comes with 2 options in this game, and you can pay 25x your stake for a guaranteed Knights Drop spin. Having symbols duking it out on the grid is hardly a new idea, and it comes along in many different forms on a somewhat regular basis. Knights of Avalon is not a bad effort in that regard, and the symbol transformation is random. That is, symbols don’t even need to be adjacent to be transformed, while symbols surrounded by the dropped knights may not be transformed. The end result is that you will most likely land a decent win when this feature triggers.

We have seen far more brutal and elaborate duels on the reels in other games, so Knights of Avalon is not really as violent as it may sound. You basically get more of the same in the bonus round, where Knights Drop multipliers can take your winnings to a whole new level. The 17,729x potential is surprisingly high. Knights of Avalon is well worth checking out for its simple, yet effective, gameplay, but we doubt it will be a smash hit.
