Inca Son Review

This studio often keeps us busy with all sorts of releases. With Inca Son, it’s bringing us yet another of those tribal games that were all the rage at one point. They’re not as exciting anymore, but don’t let that put you off this particular release. It decided to infuse it with one very neat gameplay twist that makes things more engaging and interactive than you’d expect. In any case, let’s start by saying that it all takes place on a playing field with 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines.

The game’s theme is rather straightforward, and its production values aren’t particularly impressive. The audiovisuals are only decent enough, and there are quite a few rough edges that the designers could’ve dealt with in a better way. For example, the list of jackpots that’s on the left of the playing field comes with strange colors that simply aren’t easy on the eyes.

The volatility level of Inca Son is medium, and its hit frequency can be as high as 33.31%. That makes for regular wins, and the slot’s base jackpot is 1,000x. You can apparently win up to 3,031x your bet under certain circumstances, though, so there’s that. The least that you can play for is £0.10, while the slot’s max bet is £50 per spin. Finally, the slot’s theoretical RTP is always between 95.64% and 95.69%.

There are 9 pay symbols in Inca Son, divided into 5 low-paying ones and 4 high-paying ones. The low-paying ones show card ranks from Tens to Aces, and they are actually ornament-like in nature, which adds a fair bit of style to them. They can pay well, too, up to 10x your bet or a five-of-a-kind combination. The slot’s high-paying symbols, meanwhile, offer 4 masks, which can be worth up to 50x your bet for a full combo.

For special symbols, there are Shaman Wilds and Golden Mask Scatters. Shaman Wilds substitute for other symbols in winning combos, and they can also produce nice payouts of their own. Land 5 on a payline, and you’ll grab a nice 50x win!

There’s only one gameplay feature in Inca Son, but it does offer slightly more depth than you’d probably expect. Each Golden Mask Scatter that lands is collected in a special progress bar, which has ten segments in total. The twist is that you can trigger the Bonus Game by either filling it completely or by pressing the Use button after collecting at least one Golden Mask Scatter.

Once the Bonus Game begins, you’ll get a free spin for each collected Golden Mask Scatter. These free spins are all about getting Bonus symbols stick to the playing field, and you’ll collect all their values after you run out of free spins. Notably, there are Jackpot Bonus symbols, too, and they can net you the slot’s 4 jackpots. The Grand jackpot is worth 1,000x your bet, which is nothing to scoff at!

Review Summary

All in all, it’s hard not to have some seriously mixed feelings about Inca Son. On one hand, we very much like the fact that you can trigger the Bonus Game essentially whenever you want, since collecting a single Golden Mask Scatter isn’t particularly difficult. On the other hand, the actual depth of the slot’s gameplay is a bit overestimated, and its audiovisuals and technical details won’t impress anyone.
