Our Verdict
The sound effects of Catemple, particularly the mechanical sound of the cat opening its mouth and the sound of the symbols sliding into place, are highly satisfying. The Ancient Egypt-inspired soundtrack is also well worth keeping on in this game, adding a sense of mystery to the experience. Initially, I was sure the gemstones were the low-payers in this game. In my view, it would’ve made sense to make the more distinctive icons the high-payers, not least since these are also more related to the feline theme.
However, this is something you quickly get used to. The symbol values themselves are generally low though. You seldom land 15+ matching symbols, and even 14 instances of the top-paying red gem are worth only 5x your stake. The golden cash coins also tend to be modest in value, although the possibility of landing the Max Win Coin in a Collect Zone can create tense moments whenever these elusive coins come into view.
