Buffalo Toro Review
We still have the 3-slot release 5-year anniversary world tour fresh in mind, but it seems that the creators have no plans of resting on their laurels in that regard. Buffalo Toro is a North American animal installment, with a dash of Native American spirit sprinkled in for good measure. Of course, you also get the charming matador and toro duo to spice things up in all stages.
The toro has apparently sided with the Indians, while the matador has turned into a real cowboy with a thick Southern accent to boot. You get the usual Toro Walking Wild Respins feature, where any present matador will be chased off the grid as the toro goes wild. There are 2 bonus rounds, and they both come with a symbol collect/upgrade system. Both can be triggered organically, and you can win up to a solid 50,000x your stake.
Buffalo Toro Slot Features
The premium animal symbols pay between 2.4 and 6 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the regular wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. In addition, you have x2 and x3 multiplier wilds, and these not only substitute for pay symbols, they also boost any win they are part of. If more than one wild multiplier is involved, the multipliers are added together before being applied.
The Toro is the Walking Wild, and he moves one step to the left per spin until he drops off the end of the grid. You get a respin as long as the Toro Wild is present, and the Toro Goes Wild feature triggers if the matador lands. This moves the Toro Wild to the Matador position, while also leaving a trail of regular wilds in its wake.
It should be noted that the Matador symbol is basically a blocker tile of no value, but landing 2 Matadors triggers a streak respins feature. You will then get new respins as long as you keep landing matador symbols.
The Bonus Round triggers from 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters anywhere in view in the base game, and this gives you 8, 12, 16 or 20 free spins, respectively. You win the Super version of the bonus round if at least one scatter is a super scatter. You win +4 extra spins when 2 scatters land during the feature, while 3+ scatters awards the same amount of extra spins as described above.
You can land special golden buffalo symbols in the bonus round, and these are collected in the symbol transformation trail seen above the grid. The premium animal symbols are upgraded to the top-tier buffalo symbol in chronological order from low to high for every 3 golden buffalo symbols you collect. The golden buffalo turns into a regular buffalo after being collected.
The Super Bonus Round plays out in a similar way, but here you get Rampage Reels per 3 golden buffalos you collect in addition to the symbol transformation. A rampage reel contains nothing but the top-tier buffalo symbol, and you get at least 1 rampage reel per trigger. The max rampage reel limit increases per symbol transformation tier, and up to 5 rampage reels is possible.
The X-iter Feature Buy Menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. The 94 % RTP does not change no matter what you purchase from it, and here’s an overview:
- Matador Respin - pay 10x to get a guaranteed Matador Respin trigger.
- Toro Goes Wild - pay 25x to get a guaranteed Toro Goes Wild trigger.
- Rampage Reels - pay 50x to get 3 guaranteed Rampage Reels spins.
- Bonus - pay 100x to trigger the regular Bonus Round.
- Super Bonus - pay 500x your stake to trigger the Super Bonus Round.

Review Summary
This could’ve easily been a regular North American animal slot that we see plenty of each year. The charming antics of the toro and the matador is a welcome break from the usually more “serious” genre however, and it’s kind of hilarious to see the toro in full war bonnets. You get more than enough features to keep you entertained in the base game, although the matador blocker tiles is a somewhat strange touch.
We like that you can trigger the Super Bonus organically, as sometimes such features are only available via the buy menu. The symbol upgrade system is hardly unheard of, but it combines well with the rampage reels you get in the super bonus round. The 94 % RTP is well into deal-breaker territory for many players however.
