Given the popularity of the "Book of ..." style, it's a bit surprising that they waited so long to launch their hybrid take on it. They went with the classic ancient Egypt visuals, and the bonus round is pretty standard.
You move up the bonus ladder by completing lines, and anything below 8 lines only awards small prizes. The bonus round has a better expanding symbol the more lines you get, but you can also trigger it directly by landing scatters on the reel.
Book of Slingo Features
The game has a standard set of special symbol features. Regular wilds let you mark off any spot on the column above, while the Super Wild lets you mark off any spot on the entire grid.
The best strategy is to mark off spots that either give you a line directly, get you closer to a line, or can generate more than one line (corners and the center). Extra spins can be purchased for an individually calculated price after your first 11 spins.
You can also land free spins symbols on the reels, which gives you +1 extra spin. The 'X' is a blocker symbol and takes up reel space. Finally, you have the Book scatter symbol, and at least 3 trigger the bonus round:

The question is, will players prefer this to a regular "Book" style game, since the top payout is lower. Most of the time you will hardly get a line or two before needing to pay for extra spins. Granted, these are not too costly at first, but when you close in on the 8 line bonus round trigger, you will pay a lot per spin. Not exactly cheap, only to get a bonus round with a low to medium paying expanding symbol.
