The game has a decent set of features, and you get to see many of them in Anvil and Ore. This is a powerful mining slot set deep beneath the ground, and the Echo Rolls feature is back with a bang. It can provide what amounts to a mystery win after an initial Rolling Reels sequence, and you will progress up the Upsizer Meter in different ways as you play.

The higher you climb in the Upsizer Meter, the more lucrative your next bonus round will be, and you’re guaranteed the Max Upsizer level every 5 times the feature is triggered organically. Eligible players can pay to upgrade the feature as well (not UK), and it comes with a progressive multiplier up to x50, as well as up to 2 guaranteed Echo Spins. The 5,000x potential is decent, and Anvil and Ore is far from the worst mining slot we’ve seen.

Anvil and Ore Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 1.17 and 2.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbol pays twice as much as the top-tier Dwarf symbol should you land 3 to 5 wilds on the same payline. Wilds, of course, also step in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve wins, and winning symbols are removed and replaced via the Rolling Reels mechanic. This process repeats for as long as your winning streak lasts.

The Anvil and Ore Slot comes with a randomly triggered Echo Roll feature, and it can trigger after any given win. The empty positions are then filled by a randomly selected matching pay symbol, or wilds, and you are guaranteed a win from this feature.

The Upsizer Coins are collected when they appear, and this is how you eventually upgrade the Upsizer Meter to the next level. The Upsizer Meter will indicate what you can expect from your next bonus round trigger.

You get between 6 and 12 free spins, and the win multiplier increases from x10 to x20 the more FS you get. It tops out at x50 if you get to the top-tier 12 FS level. In addition, you get +1 guaranteed Echo Roll when reaching the top 4 levels, and +2 guaranteed Echo Rolls for the top level.

You get 1 Upsizer Max Coin when you trigger the Bonus Round with 3+ scatters in view, and you get the top-tier Upsizer FS round when you’ve collected 5 Upsizer Max Coins. Eligible players can also pay for extra Upsizer elements before the feature plays out, but this option is not available in the UK.

You get the Free Spins round according to the Upsizer level you have achieved (or paid for), and additional triggering scatters give you 50 Upsizer Coins per scatter. Scatters award +1 extra spin per instance that lands during the feature, and the progressive win multiplier increases by +1 per Rolling Reel win.

It starts at x1, and it never resets for as long as the bonus round lasts. It cannot go higher than the Upsizer level you have achieved for the feature, however. At the end of the bonus round you will get to spin the Upsizer Wheel, and this gives you 10 to 150 Upsizer Coins added to the meter. This can give you a solid head start up the trail for your next bonus round.

The Anvil and Ore Bonus Buy menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. If eligible, you can either purchase a random Upsizer level between the current one and the Max level. Alternatively, you can pay 158.65x your stake for the Max Upsizer level feature. The prize for the other option is calculated depending on your current Upsizer level.

Review Summary

The mining visuals are impressive in Anvil and Ore, but somehow the symbols don’t feel as “heavy” as they try to be, if that makes sense. The game is putting many of their go-to features on display in this game for sure, and overall it’s a pretty solid effort. Everything revolves around upgrading the Upsizer Meter as much as possible before the next bonus round triggers, and luckily there are several short cuts and ways towards the top.

Even more so if you are eligible to pay your way up the Upsizer trail, of course, and we also like that you can get a solid boost via the Upsizer Wheel when the FS round ends. The Echo Rolls can be somewhat effective at times, and not least if you’ve racked up a solid win multiplier in the bonus round. The 5,000x potential is far from the highest we’ve seen, but perhaps it’s more achievable and realistic. It’s hard to tell without any stats to go by, but Anvil and Ore is well worth checking out for fans of the mining slot genre.
