Animal Madness Review
Apart from a late 2020 release, we have to go back to 2014 to find a farm-themed release, namely Crazy Cows. This is a bit surprising, given their high production rate and how common this theme is. Anyway, Animal Madness is basically a cluster pays grid slot with no bonus round.
All the animals, and the Sunflower seen on the left, are sleeping, as the game plays out at the crack of dawn. The idyllic rural setting springs to life when you land cascading wins however, as the sunflower meter increases per cascade. This can trigger up to 4 different wild modifiers to keep you going, and lead to payouts up to 2,250x your stake. The visuals and animations are entertaining, and it’s all accompanied by an upbeat tune.
Animal Madness Slot Features
You win by landing 4 to 18+ matching symbols in a cluster anywhere on the grid, and the paytable comes with 4 low-value crop symbols and 4 premium livestock symbols. The symbols pay between 40 and 1,000 x your stake for 18+ in a cluster, and you get a multitude of different animal wilds via the features. All wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins.
The sunflower seen on the left-hand side will absorb all winning symbols as they are removed from the grid via the Cascading wins mechanic. The gaps are filled with new and/or existing symbols dropping down, and the process repeats indefinitely as long as you keep winning. The Sunflower modifiers can help you out in that regard, and they work as follows:
- Wild Chickens (3 consecutive cascades) - adds three 1x2-sized chicken wilds to random positions.
- Wild Goat (6 consecutive cascades) - awards a single 2x3-sized goat wild randomly placed on the grid.
- Wild Sheep (9 consecutive cascades) - comes with two 2x2-sized sheep wilds, as well as a symbol upgrade feature.
- Wild Cow (12 consecutive cascades) - gives you a single 3x3-sized cow wild randomly placed on the grid.
There is no bonus round to look forward to, but you get a randomly triggered Rabbit Mayhem feature on occasional non-winning spins. This removes a random amount of symbols from the grid, which triggers the cascading mechanic.
The 200 Spins Animal Madness Slot Experience
We got the Rabbit Mayhem feature two times in a row at the start of our 5-minute highlights video, and this took us through several sunflower modifiers. A similar thing happens towards the end of the video, with even more modifiers triggered, and you can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
It kind of feels like you’re being cheated when you land several cluster wins on the same cascade, as it still only highlights one petal on the sunflower meter. This is a deviation from the grid slot blueprint we’ve become used to, and it might be somewhat of an acquired taste. The rabbit mayhem feature worked out quite well for us as you can see in the video above, but Animal Madness is hardly for serious gamblers.
The math model points towards a casual target audience, with its medium volatility and a mediocre 2,250x potential, and all the modifiers are based around different wild symbols sizes. Not overly innovative perhaps, but it’s still fun to see the sunflower grow per modifier trigger. Perhaps including a bonus round would have done wonders for this release, but it’s still a pretty entertaining farm slot for some lighthearted gaming.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Sunflower meter awards up to 4 wild modifiers | Max win probability is 1 in 100 million |
| Random symbol removal on non-winning spins | Beware of adjustable RTP ranges |
| Medium volatility and 2,250x potential |
If you enjoy Animal Madness Slot you should also try:
Chicken Drop - is a more volatile farm slot installment, and it comes with a 7x7 cluster pays grid. The Egg Drop feature is at the center of everything, and it maxes out at size 6x6 with an x10 multiplier. The egg upgrades never reset in the bonus round, and you can win up to 5,000x your stake.
Piggy Bank Farm - is a somewhat similarly themed release, and it comes with 5x3 reels and 50 ways to win. It’s all about the Piggy Bank Spins feature, where cluster payouts can build up to 500x your stake. A multiplier is introduced in the bonus round, and this can crack the 5,000x potential from a single piggy bank win.
Nunchucks Chicken - is a somewhat unusual farm slot, and it has become quite popular. You get a multiplier that increases per ninja respin until you win, and you’ll benefit from martial art foxes and chickens in the Shuriken Showdown Bonus Round. The max win is 10,000x your stake.
