Action Boost Gladiator Review
The stacked wilds and random reveal symbols are not present in the base game, making Action Boost Gladiator distinct from previous versions. The base game is simpler, with regular wilds. The 3 flags on the left trigger the Flag Spin feature, which can award free spin rounds or jackpots up to 5,000x your stake.
This feature can achieve the maximum win, and you collect colored coins in the base game to trigger bonus round combinations. You can get a single Action Boost feature, or all 3 combined. The Flag Spin can trigger within the bonus rounds, offering different upgrades depending on active Action Boost features. Details are provided below.
Action Boost Gladiator Slot Features
The premium symbols, with the gladiator as the top-tier symbol, pay between 2 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. The Colosseum Wild symbol pays 10x your stake for the same, and it also substitutes for any pay symbol. That sums up the base game, so let’s explore the bonus features.
The Flag Spin feature triggers randomly when a Trophy Coin lands to be collected. Coins can land on the green, red, and/or purple flags, representing the different Action Boost Free Spins features. You get the feature, or the combo of features, for each flag coins land on. Alternatively, the Flag Spin can award the Mini, Minor, Major, or Mega Jackpot worth 10x, 50x, 500x, or 5,000x your stake, respectively.
The Action Boost Bonus Round can also be triggered by landing green, red, and/or purple coins on the main grid in the base game, collected by the corresponding Action Boost money bags on top of the grid. The feature triggers randomly when at least one Action Boost coin is collected, and you get all action boost features from the triggering spin.
The Green Coin Action Boost Bonus Round comes with 5 free spins, and the grid expands to size 5x6 with 40 paylines up front. Wild symbols are cloned to fill the entire reel, and Gold Coin symbols award instant prizes or a Flag Spin. The Flag Spin awards an instant prize or upgrades a symbol to the top-tier Gladiator symbol for the duration of the feature.
The Red Coin Action Boost Bonus Round awards 10 free spins, and Gold Coins award an instant prize, a Flag Spin, or a Shield. The Shield comes in 1 of the 4 jackpot colors, and you need 3 green, 4 blue, 5 purple, or 6 red shields to collect the corresponding mini, minor, major, or mega prizes. The Flag spin can upgrade the jackpots, give you more shields, or an instant cash prize.
The Purple Coin Action Boost Bonus Round gives you 5 free spins, and the Gold Coin awards 1 or 2 extra spins, an instant prize, or the Flag Spin. The latter will give you 1 to 3 extra spins or an instant prize. In addition, you will benefit from a random win multiplier per spin, between x2, x3, and x5.
The Action Boost Gladiator bonus round can be triggered with a combination of Action Boost features, even all 3 in the same round. If you get a combo trigger, you need the red action boost coin to get 10 free spins, otherwise you will get only 5. The purple coin random multiplier does not apply to jackpots.
Review Summary
The visuals are somewhat dated, and especially the backdrop looks like something from a 90s computer game. Anyway, the symbols look decent, but the 3 flags on the left-hand side occupy a lot of space. They aren’t active all that often either, so it would’ve been better to shift to a new screen for the Flag Spin.
The Flag Spin can land you lucrative jackpots, and it’s always nice to have several entries into the bonus round. The combo feature system has been used recently, and it's used well with the Action Boost features. Testing the Demo Slot can be a good idea, just to get the hang of it, and at least there are plenty of features and action to enjoy.
