3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox Review
With what looks like the ruins of a famous bridge in the background, 3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox takes you on a dystopian future adventure with a cyborg by your side. Set in 3021 AD, everyone is left to fend for themselves in the post-apocalyptic and toxic environment.
The intro video is quite impressive, and the base game is all about the randomly triggered wild feature. The Gigablox you land on every spin is enough to create decent tension in the base game, but the hit rate is pretty low for a medium volatile game. While there was definitely enough here to pique our curiosity, a test session revealed a few things.
3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox Features
As you’ve probably figured out by now, the Gigablox feature is at the heart of this thing, and it triggers on every single base game spin. You never know which Gigablox size each spin will bring, but a certain size is the most you can land. Each Gigablox symbol splits into matching tiles when part of a winning combo.
At random times, the cyborg on the left-hand side might trigger the Wild Reel Bonus feature. You will then see him open fire at the reels, turning random positions wild in the process. The wilds step in for all pay symbols to help you form winning combos, like wilds usually do.
You need at least 5 scatters anywhere in sight to trigger the Bounty Hunter Bonus Round. You get 1 free spin per triggering scatter, and Gigablox scatters are counted as tiles. The Wild Reel bonus seems to trigger more often during the feature, and the cyborg will randomly select a multiplier between 1x and 25x that applies to any win.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may buy the bonus round at any time, but this option is definitely not available for UK players. It will set you back 100x your stake, and this awards up to 25 free spins. It’s something to consider though, given that you’ll trigger the bonus round organically only once every 321 spins on average.
The 200 Spins 3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox Experience
After spending some time in the base game grind, the bonus round was purchased. This happens half a minute into the video, and 8 scatters were landed. This awarded 8 free spins for starters, and you can see for yourself how it fared by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
3021 The Bounty Hunter Gigablox comes across as an ambitious project, but without the budget to back it up. It might be a minor detail, but it’s a bit annoying that the cyborg has to get back in the standard position between each time he fires his laser gun during the same wild reel feature. Why not have him blast it all out from the hip in one motion instead, and actually make it look cool.
At first sight, and after reading the elaborate backstory, this looked like a massive production. It doesn’t take too many spins however, before you figure out that you’ve walked into a spin-off. Free spins with guaranteed multipliers (although 1x is possible) is a decent enough feature, but the max win sticks out as one of the lowest potentials in the Gigablox series.
