300 Shields Mighty Ways Review
The 300 Shields slot range is inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster by a similar name, as well as the comic book, and it’s well-established as a hard-hitting and brutally volatile series by now. Fans will hardly be disappointed by what’s on offer in 300 Shields Mighty Ways, and the innovative and trademarked Mighty Ways engine is a spin-off from the Megaways system that we really enjoyed.
You get the gory slashing per cascade, which conditions you in a Pavlov’s dog kind of way, and each cascade adds +2 positions to the involved reels. This progressive win way system is superior to the Megaways engine in many ways, or perhaps it’s just a highly refreshing take. Anyway, the base game is barebones as usual, but you get 2 bonus rounds this time. The regular one is hardly new, but the super version starts you off with the maxed out x300 wild multiplier.
300 Shields Mighty Ways Slot Features
The Mighty Ways mechanic starts you out with 729 ways to win on each spin, and you win by landing 3 to 6 matching symbols on adjacent reels from the uttermost left to right. The premium weapon symbols pay between 1.5 and 10 x your stake for 6 of a kind, and the warrior Wild symbols can appear on reels 2 to 6 to substitute for pay symbols and help complete wins.
Winning symbols are removed from the grid, and you get +2 extra positions on the relevant reels. All empty positions are then filled with new and/or existing symbols that drop down. The process repeats as long as you keep winning, and each reel can expand to 8 positions at best. This gives you 262,144 ways to win, and everything resets between spins both in the base game and in the bonus round.
You need 3, 4 or 5 shield scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards 5, 7 or 10 free spins, respectively. Should you land 6 scatters, you get the Super Free Spins version. All wins involving the warrior wild is boosted by an x2 multiplier during the feature, and scatters are collected to upgrade the wild multiplier and award extra spins as follows:
- You get 5 extra spins from 2 collected scatters, and warrior wild wins are then boosted by x5.
- Collect 6 scatters in total to get another batch of 5 extra spins, and increase the wild multiplier to x25.
- Collecting 12 scatters in total awards yet another +5 spins, and now the wild multiplier is maxed out at x300.
The Warrior Wild Multiplier resides at x300 throughout the feature in the Super version, but you still collect 2, 6 and 12 scatters to win +5 extra spins each time. In both versions of the feature you also get +5 extra spins when you land 3 scatters on the same free spin.
Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can make use of the Buy Pass feature. This is a bonus buy feature which comes with 2 options. You can get the regular bonus round with 5, 7 or 10 free spins for 50x your stake, or the Super Bonus Round for 1,566x your stake.
The 200 Spins 300 Shields Mighty Ways Slot Experience

Review Summary
We think it’s safe to say that 300 Shields Mighty Ways is the best installment in the series so far, and the gory slashing sound you get from each cascade is oddly satisfying for whatever deep-seated primitive reason. The visuals haven’t been upgraded much, which didn’t bother us any, and the Mighty Ways mechanic is actually more fun than the Megaways mechanic in our humble opinion.
Getting random ways per spin is good, but it gets boring and seldom leads to anything significant without a feature anyway. Having a progression system where the ways increase per consecutive win gives the feature a sense of purpose and direction that we enjoyed. Of course, you can expect plenty of dead spins in a volatile release like this, and the super bonus round does not come around often. Both features can do serious damage though, up to 30,000x at best, but keep in mind that the max win is capped at £/€250,000.
| Pros | Cons |

| Win up to 30,000x your stake |
