It’s a bit strange that there are so few slots with a Zodiac theme, as it seems like a very usable concept. This game has obviously eyed an opportunity, and grafted it onto their licenced Infinity Reels engine. The result is Zodiac Infinity Reels, and it comes with a very “airy-fairy” fantasy theme, featuring a suitingly dreamy soundtrack.
You get to choose your own wild symbol from the 12 Zodiac signs, and the 5-tier Bonus Wheel is somewhat unusual for this engine. It can dish out plenty of extra spins, as well as cash prizes, multiplier increments and jackpots, but don’t expect massive payouts from this one. For some reason the math model is not up to par with previous releases, and even the RTP is lower than usual.
Zodiac Infinity Reels Features
Before the game starts, you get to choose 1 of the 12 Zodiac signs, and this becomes the wild symbol stepping in for all regular pay symbols. Unless you were “born under a bad sign”, it would probably be natural to choose your own Zodiac, but that’s totally up to you.
The Infinity Reels mechanic is the core feature here, and you’ll pile on a new reel when you land a winning combo. This repeats as long as you keep improving on your winning combo, and each added reel also increases the progressive win multiplier with +1. Both the reel set and the multiplier resets when you hit a non-winning reel. If you manage to pile on 13 reels you win a 888x your stake Infinity Bonus.
The Zodiac Wheel scatter is stacked, and it counts as 2 symbols when it lands fully in view. You thus need at least “2 and a half” anywhere in the same Infinity sequence to trigger the Bonus Wheel. You are now guaranteed at least 8 free spins after the Bonus Wheel session is finished, but you can win both extra spins, multiplier increments and cash prizes from the 5-tier Wheel.
Each tier comes with better prizes of all 3 kinds, and the Wheel feature ends when you land on a cash prize. If you land on extra free spins or extra multiplier increments however, these are added to your stack and you move on to the next tier. If you make it all the way to the innermost level, you are guaranteed a Mini, Minor, Major or Grand Jackpot, and these are worth 10x, 25x, 100x or 1,000x your stake, respectively.
The Bonus Round starts as soon as you leave the Wheel behind, and you can see the Multiplier Increment meter on the left-hand side. Whatever Increment you racked up in the Bonus Wheel will be highlighted, and it’s possible for the progressive multiplier to increase with as much as +7 per added reel. The multiplier does not reset between spins, and it has no cap. Wheel scatters that land award 4 extra spins.

We always felt something was off with the whole Infinity Reels engine from the get-go, but couldn’t quite put our fingers on it. At least not until now (see summary below). Review Summary
The thing about infinity is that it’s mighty big. This means that no matter how many reels you pile on, you’re still left somewhat unsatisfied when everything resets. Even winning the 888x Infinity Jackpot doesn’t take away that nagging feeling of wanting to “go all the way”, while still rationally knowing that is impossible. It’s like this engine never gives you the closure you crave, and we believe this is the reason it will never really take off in its current form.
Perhaps the concept would be more successful if, instead of forcing players to face off against infinity, you cap the whole thing with a 30-reels mega jackpot at the “end of the road”, so to speak, and a few smaller jackpots before that. Anyway, Zodiac Infinity Reels comes with a narrow niche theme wrapped around an equally narrow niche engine, and the stats will hardly compel non-fantasy fans to bother. The 3,956x potential is not very impressive, and neither is the below-average RTP.
