World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was popular when this reviewer grew up, so our test session wasn’t without a hint of nostalgia. Since then, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), has long since overshadowed the staged macho performances, as it’s hard to compete with the unpredictability of the real thing. WWE Legends Link & Win is good fun though. Mostly because of the very American action commentary, and the many video clips sprinkled in showing the WWE legends in action.
Other than the unusual theme, you get a fairly standard installment in the Link&Win range, spiced up by a few modifier symbols that can spike your payouts once in a while. The top-tier 5,000x jackpot is decent, and the advertised potential is a solid 25,000x your stake. The bonus round comes with 3x3 mega symbols, and HyperSpins can help you trigger both features with individual reel respins.

The 4 premium symbols are worth a mention, and these are the 4 wrestling stars: Steve Austin, Eddie Guerrero, Macho Man Randy Savage and Booker T. Stone Cold. The over-the-top action commentary is kind of hilarious at times, but it also gets a bit repetitive, especially in the Link&Win feature. You get fun WWE video segments mixed in between features, and there are some hard-hitting ring legends on display for sure. Despite all the macho bravado, there is more flexing than actual fighting going on, and it would have been fun to see a feature that actually got you closer to the make-believe action.
Fans of WWE might enjoy this release, but it feels kind of boxed in by the standardized Link&Win concept. On the upside, you do get some modifier symbols that can do some damage, and this lifts the streak respins style feature out of the swamp of mediocrity. The advertised 25,000x potential looks good on paper, but should probably be taken with a grain of salt. Somewhere between 5,000x and 10,000x seems more realistic in our estimate.
