Cashpot Fairytale Review
This fairytale-inspired series spans back quite a while, and it’s interesting that the original installment is still going relatively strong. While new installments haven’t arrived frequently, this recent release indicates that the developers might be aiming to revamp this whole series and take it into the “modern age”, so to speak.
If that’s the case, we’re unsure if the dated appearance of this release does the project any favors. The characters are obviously inspired by a popular franchise, and the symbol resembles a famous logo so closely that the developers might need to lawyer up at some point. This is an underwhelming release compared to others, but it might suit casual fairytale loving gamers.
Cashpot Fairytale Features
The premium symbols, consisting of inspired characters, pay between 6 and 20 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and any combo of the 3 premiums pay 2.4x your stake for the same. The logo-inspired symbol steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations, and it also pays 100x your stake for 5-oak wins.
The Golden Egg instant Cashpot scatter can land anywhere, and 3+ in view awards an instant prize according to the Cashpot display on the left-hand side. More precisely, you win 1, 5, 10, 40, 100, 500 or 1,000 x your stake when you land 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 golden egg scatters on the same spin.
The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 fairytale book scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 at the same time. A pre-bonus pick game is up first, where you’ll pick golden eggs to reveal different bonus round enhancers:
- +? - gives you the number of free spins the ? turns into.
- x? - adds to the line win multiplier that’s active during the bonus round.
- Fairy Godmother - boosts the Instant Cashpots for the duration of the bonus round.
You can get more than one of each enhancing symbol in the pre-bonus game, and the pick ‘em feature ends when you reveal a ‘start free spins’ symbol.
The Gameplay Experience
A highlights video starts with a smaller Cashpot win, and you get a brief taste of the base game before skipping to the bonus round trigger. We got a decent mix of different enhancers in the pick ‘em pre-game, including 14 free spins, and you can see for yourself how we fared.
Review Summary
It’s interesting to note that none of the later installments in this series comes close to the original release in terms of popularity. The fairytale vibe is going strong as ever, but the 3D-style visuals come across as dated and a bit messy as the backdrop doesn’t really go all that well together with the foreground.
Another title fares a lot better in that regard, and it comes with higher instant Cashpots too. The number of features has been dialed down significantly compared to earlier releases, and you’re left with up to 1,000x instant scatter Cashpots in the base game, as well as a bonus round where these may be enhanced. Fans of cartoons may enjoy this casual volatility installment, but we much prefer the somewhat similar fishing-themed title mentioned above.
