In the world of online slots the word ‘extreme’ gets slapped onto almost any kind of reskin with a few upgraded tweaks. There is nothing too “extreme” about Wildfire Wins Extreme to be honest, and it’s basically an electric-themed follow-up to a fiery game. It’s not a pure reskin job, of course, and the upgrades do make this follow-up the best choice of the two.

We like the electric theme better than the more common pyro theme as well, and larger payouts are now possible in the main feature thanks to x2 boosted wild wins. Wilds can sometimes clone themselves to cover full reels as well, and both of these extras are highly useful when the streak Wildfire Respins feature triggers. The 10,000x potential is most likely cracked from the 3-tier Wildfire Wheel, however, and the win cap remains the same as in the original game.

Wildfire Wins Extreme Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 1.2 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you can land Wild symbols on all 5 reels as well. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, and wilds pay the same as the top-tier symbol should you land 3 to 5 wilds on a payline. Wilds can, at random times, turn all other symbols on the same reel into wilds as well.

The low-value symbols can sometimes land as electrically charged Special Symbols, and you need at least one special symbol in view to trigger the Wildfire Respins feature. The royal symbols are represented in a meter on the right-hand side, and the corresponding symbol (or symbols) are activated in this meter when a special symbol is part of a win.

All special symbols that are activated will turn into sticky wilds, and they stay frozen in place for the duration of the Wildfire Respins feature. One sticky wild may get upgraded with an x2 multiplier before each new wildfire respin, but wins are boosted by x2 no matter how many x2 multiplier wilds are part of the same win.

Activated symbols do not land in their special version for as long as the wildfire respins feature lasts, but you can still land the regular version which turn into sticky wilds, of course. You need at least one special symbol to be part of a win to continue the respins winning streak, and you get a final respin if all royal symbols become activated. All wins on the final respin are boosted by a multiplier of x2, x3, x5, or x10.

You need 3 bonus symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 in the base game to trigger the Wildfire Wheels bonus, and you can also accumulate the necessary bonus symbols during the Wildfire Respins feature. The Wildfire Wheel has 3 wheel tiers, and you start by spinning the least lucrative wheel. It can land you cash prizes, or upgrade you to the next tier.

There is only 1 segment that levels you up, while the other 7 segments on the wheel award a cash prize. Cash segments are marked when you land on them the first time, and if you land on a marked segment the feature ends. Tier 1 awards cash prizes between 1 and 15 x your stake, while tier 2 comes with prizes between 3 and 100 x your stake. The 3rd tier guarantees you a prize between 5 and 10,000 x your stake.

Review Summary

Wildfire Wins Extreme is pretty similar to the original Wildfire Wins, but some elements have been dialed up to justify the ‘extreme’ part of the title. What we are trying to say is that if you enjoyed the first game, you will most likely like what’s on offer here as well. The pyro theme has been replaced by an electric one, and the wilds can expand to cover full reels at random times in this follow-up.

In addition, wilds can come with x2 multipliers attached, although any wild win will never be boosted by more than x2 no matter how many wilds are involved. The final sticky multiplier wild respin comes with a total win multiplier up to x10, as before, and you can still win up to 10,000x your stake in the Wildfire Wheels feature. This is also the game’s win cap, and overall we prefer this sequel if we had to choose. It’s hardly a revolutionary installment, but perhaps worth checking out nonetheless.
