Wild Showdown Review
The game is a great release. It’s quite big, too, as its playing field consists of 5 reels, 4 rows and as many as 1,024 ways to win.
The theme is all about the Wild West, and there aren’t any big twists to the basic premise. Nothing original, then, but the production values are above average and it certainly looks good and feels good overall. The background even shows a saloon, which adds a fair bit to the game’s atmosphere.
There’s no official info about the game’s volatility, but we estimate it to be high. After all, its massive 30,000x jackpot suggests as much. The betting range is fair enough, allowing you to play for bets between £0.20 and £20. Finally, it’s also worth saying that the game comes in two RTP variants - 94.02% and 95.96%.
Wild Showdown Slot Features
There are 10 pay symbols in total, and there are 6 low pays and 4 high pays to look forward to. For low pays, there are card ranks from Nines to Aces, with Aces paying 0.6x your bet for a full combination. The high pays are then more thematic, featuring bottles of whisky, gunslingers, dancers, and sheriffs. Unsurprisingly, sheriffs are worth the most, paying 4x your bet for a full combination.
In addition to pay symbols, you can look forward to Wilds, Safe Scatters, and Gun Chamber symbols. Wilds are completely basic, substituting for other symbols to complete winning combos. They can’t appear on reel 1, however.
Multiplier Gun Chamber symbols can land only on reel 2 and double as Wilds. After the reels stop spinning, they produce a win multiplier that can be as high as 10x. This win multiplier then gets applied to all wins for the spin.
Wild Gun Chamber symbols can land only on reel 4 and double as Wilds. Once the reels stop spinning, they add a random number of extra Wilds to the board, to up to 5.
Safe Scatters can land only on reel 3. Get one on the board, and you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature with 8 free spins. During those free spins, the triggering symbol stays on the board as a Sticky Wild.
That will happen only if you trigger the feature without any Gun Chamber symbols present. If those are in place when the feature is triggered, they will stay on board as Sticky Wilds instead, producing their effects at the end of each free spin.
Note that you can also trigger free spins through the Buy Pass feature, for a set price. Triggering the feature with a Multiplier Gun Chamber symbol costs 96x your bet, triggering the feature with a Wild Gun Chamber symbol costs 89x your bet, and triggering the feature with both will set you back by 450x your bet.
Review Summary
At the end of the day, Wild Showdown does more than enough with its assortment of special symbols to catch one’s attention. If you’re a fan of Wild West slots, you’ll certainly have a good time with it, especially if you are happy to use the Buy Pass feature to get straight to the juicy bits.
