The title of this game makes us wonder if Vikings Go To Valhalla could be the last installment in the Norse warrior range, or perhaps there will be a return even from Valhalla. Time will tell, but either way the 4 brave warriors are in for the fight of their eternal life this time. They’re literally duking it out with Jormungandr, the World Serpent that encircles the human realm according to Norse mythology.

Gunnar and his crew will probably need all the practice they got from previous adventures, if they want to be granted access to Odin’s giant ‘hall of fame’ in Asgard. We’re happy to report that the Rage Meters are back, and they trigger Berserk Respins this time. The Ragnarok Bonus Round comes with 7 free spins, and all 4 vikings are berserk for the entirety of the feature. This means that each viking symbol becomes a sticky wild for the duration of the Ragnarok Round, and the x1 starting multiplier may increase via the Treasure Chest symbol as described above.

Review Summary

We like the brand new Berserk Respins feature, as it provides a decent break from the base game grind. Racking up plenty of sticky wilds is not always easy though, and even a full screen provides 250x your stake at best. Repeat sticky wild wins can make a dent though, and the viking battles are entertaining as always. We’re also happy the Rage Meters are back, as they provide motivation to keep going.

Judging from the feature prices only, you might need around 47 Ragnarok Wheel attempts before you get to the actual feature, and getting there organically is far from easy. This is where the game truly shines though, and the regular bonus round almost feels half-baked once you’ve tasted Jormungandr blood with all vikings in berserk mode. Landing small coin prizes from the treasure chest is a tad annoying, and feature upgrades only would have been preferred in the bonus rounds. Overall, a worthy ending to the popular Norse saga, if indeed Valhalla is the endstation.
