We have already seen a Megaways version, as well as a Deluxe version, and Twin Spin XXXTreme had to come sooner or later. NetEnt is taking their sweet time between releases these days though, but we expect more XXXtreme conversions of their back catalog for sure. Twin Spin XXXTreme is not as extreme as the Megaways version to be fair, at least not when it comes to the math model. Visuals have been modernized a bit, but other than that it looks similar to the first game.

It’s closer to the first game also in the feature department, as there is no bonus round to look forward to like in the Megaways version. You get 6 reels though, and all of them can become synced via the Twin Reels feature. In addition, a multiplier can kick in to boost 3+ synced reel wins, and you can pay extra to be guaranteed 3 or 4 synced reels per spin. The 9,600x potential is solid enough, but not even close to what you get in the Megaways version.

Twin Spin XXXTreme Slot Features

You can get 2 to 6 so-called Twin Reels per spin, and the twin reels are synced reels that land with the same set of symbols per reel. The twin reels can also spread to more reels as the reels spin, and this can lead to a full grid of synced reels.

You can get a random Multiplier when at least 3 reels are synced, and the possible multiplier range increases with the number of synced reels as follows:

Review Summary

You can’t really expect every installment in the XXXtreme series to be as extreme as the first release in this series. Twin Spin XXXTreme is a solid follow-up to the original game, and the added 6th reel means that you get 729 ways to win instead of 243. This also means that up to 6 reels can become synced at the same time, which can lead to solid payouts. Visually the game hasn’t changed all that much, but it looks a bit more modern than the original.

It’s a simple classic looking slot after all, so there is only so much you can do to upgrade the visual department. The random multiplier system is a welcome addition for sure, and this is how you’re most likely to close in on the 9,600x potential. The Megaways version comes with a 38,000x potential in comparison, and it also comes with a bonus round with multiplier wilds. It’s a good alternative to Twin Spin XXXTreme, which is closer to the original game. It all depends on what you prefer, as both installments are worthwhile in our view.
