Treasures of Kilauea Review
Kilauea is a highly active volcano, and in Treasures of Kilauea it erupts every 50 spins, providing extra wilds and possible multiplier wilds to the regular 10 spin wild cycle.
Wild frames turn wild every 10 spins. A jackpot wheel feature can award prizes up to 5,000x your stake. The bonus round is all about random wilds, and you can choose from different options of volatility.
Treasures of Kilauea Slot Features
The premium symbols pay between 0.9 and 1.2 x your stake, and wilds play a central part. Wild symbols substitute for pay symbols to help complete wins, and they can also come with multipliers.
Volcano Symbols leave behind a lava frame when they land, and all framed positions turn into Wild positions every 10th spin. You can see the countdown above the grid to the left, and all lava frames are removed after the win calculation.
You’ll see the Eruption Spins countdown on the right-hand side above the grid, and it starts at 50 each cycle. After the lava frames have turned their respective positions wild, the volcano in the background erupts to spread additional wilds onto the grid. Wilds that land on a wild position turn it into an x2 multiplier wild. Everything then resets, and you should know that the spin counters are saved between bet levels.
The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3+ scatters on the same base game spin, and you can choose between 3 different bonus round versions no matter how many triggering scatters you landed. It works as follows:
- 3 scatters awards 15 FS with 5 wilds, 10 FS with 7 wilds or 5 FS with 10 wilds.
- 4 scatters awards 30 FS with 5 wilds, 20 FS with 7 wilds or 10 FS with 10 wilds.
- 5 scatters awards 45 FS with 5 wilds, 30 FS with 7 wilds or 15 FS with 10 wilds.
You can retrigger the bonus round as well, and this gives you the same amount of additional spins as you chose in the first place. Wilds are added to random positions per spin.
The top horizontal sliding reel comes with a golden frame in the middle position, and you trigger the Jackpot feature when an idol symbol lands in the frame. The jackpot wheel will then spin to award 1 of 5 possible jackpots, and these pay 18x (Micro), 30x (Mini), 100x (Minor), 500x (Major) and 5,000x (Mega) your stake, respectively.
The 200 Spins Treasures of Kilauea Slot Experience
You get to see a few lava frame cycles in the base game, before we trigger the bonus round at 1:50 into the 3:37-minute highlights video. We landed only 3 triggering scatters, and we went with the 10 FS and 7 random wilds option. You can see for yourself how it all played out by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
The 10-spin wild cycle is enhanced by a 50-spin cycle. The regular cycle provides smaller wins. Things can heat up a bit if you’re lucky enough to get some x2 multiplier wilds on the Eruption Spin.
The low symbol values affect wins, Getting random wilds in the bonus round is fine, but you will most likely need the Mega jackpot to crack the 5,000x potential. Treasures of Kilauea is entertaining, but higher symbol values would’ve improved it.
