Treasures of Kilauea 2 is quite different compared to the original and offers a 5-reel grid with 4 rows and 20 lines. Wild Burst Feature
Wild Burst is directly linked to the Kilauea character on the left side of your screens, and the developer has kept the 50 to 0 counter. It starts with your first spin and resets on the 50th. Every time it does that, an additional Wild Burst modifier is activated, adding a fiery tooth to Kilauea's mouth. The counter is removed when all features become active.
A Wild Burst symbol on the grid activates the feature, and Kilauea randomly selects one of the active modifiers. It will carry on its effect for a guaranteed juicy win. Here are all the Wild Burst specials:
- Single Flame - creates a fiery zone around the Wild Burst symbol, and all positions in it transform into wilds.
- Double Flame - adds an additional Wild Burst symbol and thus creates 2 fiery zones, which may overlap.
- Circling Arrows - all wild symbols and winning combinations are held, and the other grid positions respin.
- Round Red - removes the low-valued symbols from the grid.
- W Symbol - converts 1, 2, or 3 reels into Wild Stacks. If there are Wild and Wild Burst symbols on these columns, they get an x2 multiplier.
- X Symbol - upgrades the Wild and Wild Burst symbols on the board into wilds with x2 to x10 multipliers.
Jackpot Feature
Treasures of Kilauea 2 is packed with 4 fixed jackpots, as you can see below. They have starting and maximum values. If you land Jackpot Coins, they will increase the respective pots by 1x. Every time you land at least one Jackpot Coin, there is a fair chance of triggering the Jackpot Wheel. It is guaranteed that one jackpot will be won, and it will be reset to its starting value.

LockNWin UpZones

Theme & Graphics
The game developer is known for building visually stunning slots with cartoonish designs and awesome voiceovers. Treasures of Kilauea 2 is no exception, and it looks and sounds much better than the original. The Hawaiian theme is well-presented with totem masks, the Kilauea character, and the overall setting behind the grid.
In fact, our volcanic fellow is the main attraction, creating rewarding havoc on the grid once the Wild Burst activates. Our Verdict
Treasures of Kilauea 2 is a nice upgrade of the 2022 original and offers exciting gameplay in all stages. Despite the lack of true innovation, the game offers more in terms of features and bonuses. Indeed, the provider has changed the value of jackpots and some payouts, which resulted in a decrease of the RTP rate and actual payout potential.
However, I like the Wild Burst features and the UpZones enhancement. The developer started the LockNWin bonus in 2021. After a while, the company introduced the first enhancement in the bonus mechanic. Until Treasures of Kilauea 2, we have seen other proprietary mechanics announced by the developer.
It was about time to see a new element in LockNWin. Perhaps the game is losing ground for its rather limited max win, which, by the rule of thumb, is very hard to get. The core bonus is also difficult to trigger, but luckily, the Wild Burst Feature is not. I'm confident that Treasures of Kilauea 2 will repeat the success of Treasures of Kilauea, if not surpass it!
