If the bleak, foggy battle aftermath backdrop looks familiar, it’s because you may remember it from a similar game. The visuals are similar in other words, and the 10K ways system plays out on a 6-reels grid with 4 positions per reel. In addition there is a top horizontal reel above the 4 middle positions, and this is where the Wild symbol can appear. You get cascading wins in the base game as well, which gives you indefinite winning streaks.

The 10K Ways system is akin to a static grid in many ways, cruising along on autopilot as it were. The base game doesn’t come with any real bonus features, except for the near miss bonus that guarantees you a hammer and/or bonus prize win. The Bonus Respins round comes with prizes up to 10,000x your stake as well, and the overall max win is 12,337x your stake. Thor 10K Ways is a decent enough installment, but it will probably not be enough to catapult the range into mainstream stardom.

The premium symbols pay between 2 and 50 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the Wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. The Wild can appear on the top horizontal reel only though, and the wild does not hold any value of its own. Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, and replaced by new and/or existing symbols dropping down from above. This repeats for as long as you keep winning.

The Bonus Respins feature triggers from 6+ Hammer symbols in view, and you start with 3 respins on a cleared grid where the triggering hammer symbols are sticky from the get-go. New hammer symbols that land become sticky as well, and this resets the spin tally to 3 each time. The feature ends when you either run out of respins, or when you fill all possible positions with symbols. The sum total of all cash symbols is then paid.

The hammer symbols come with cash prize values between 1x and 100x your stake, and you can also land the Mini, Minor, Major, Grand, and 10K bonus prize symbols. These are worth 10x, 50x, 250x, 2,000x, or 10,000x your stake, respectively, and you can win the Mini and Minor bonus prizes multiple times per feature. The same is not possible for the remaining prizes, however, and symbols can appear also on the top horizontal reel.

The Near Miss Bonus triggers when you’ve racked up exactly 5 hammer symbols at the end of a cascading sequence. The hammer symbols will then turn into regular cash symbols or bonus prize symbols, and their respective values are all summed up and paid. Hammer symbols can appear only on the regular grid in the base game, and not on the top horizontal reel.

Thor 10K Ways can be seen as a follow-up to a previous game, as both the visuals and features are similar. You don’t get the reel-adding action in this game, of course, but you get a larger grid sporting a top horizontal reel and 10,000 ways to win. Set against the bleak backdrop of the aftermath of what looks to have been an epic battle, the cascading wins mechanic combined with the 10K ways can lead to solid payouts also in the base game.

In practice, however, you are more likely to close in on the 12,337x potential when you trigger the Bonus Respins feature. That being said, you will most likely need to land the 10K bonus prize to actually crack the max win in this game, as even a full grid of the top-tier 100x hammer symbol pays “only” 2,800x your stake. If you enjoyed the atmosphere in the infinity reels version, and you want a more static experience as it were, then Thor 10K Ways might be a powerful alternative to check out.
