The idea of a genie granting endless wishes is appealing, and anticipation was high when a dynamic grid sequel to the original Wish Master slot was announced. The Wish Master Megaways may not fulfill every desire, but it should please fans of the original. There's no bonus round this time, which is a key point to note.

This Megaways follow-up remains largely true to the original, although the expanding wild modifier has been removed. Four different modifiers are available from the Wish Master, and up to three can be active simultaneously. However, they last for only 5 spins in this version, compared to the original's 10. The potential maximum win of 27,018x is significantly higher. Overall, this is a good update that could have been even better with more innovation.

The Wish Master Megaways Slot Features

Winning symbols disappear from the grid using the Avalanche mechanic, with new or existing symbols filling the empty spaces from above. This allows for multiple wins per round until no new winning combinations occur. Wild symbols can appear to help, substituting for other symbols to complete or enhance wins.

The Lamp Scatter symbol is needed to trigger the Wish Master feature, which brings the Wish Master into play. One of four modifiers is awarded as an icon above the grid, and it is active for the next 5 spins (compared to 10 in the original game).

Landing another scatter within those 5 spins adds another modifier, and the spin count resets to 5. Up to 3 modifiers can be active at once, and they all last for 5 spins after the reset. Here's what to expect:

• Extra Wilds - replaces a random symbol type with wild symbols.
• Wild Reel - fills the entire triggering reel with wild symbols.
• Multiplier - boosts all line wins by x2 or x3, with both combined for an x6 multiplier.
• Random Wilds - adds 2 to 5 wild symbols to random positions.

You cannot have two of the same modifiers active at the same time, and the expanding wild modifier from the original game is not included in this version. Landing a scatter with 3 modifiers active re-triggers the originally triggered feature with a new modifier.

Review Summary

The original Wish Master is a classic, and expectations were high for this Megaways sequel. While the visuals are appealing, a bonus round would have been a welcome addition. As mentioned above, this wish wasn't granted, and the Wish Master Modifiers are largely unchanged. This could be good or bad, but it feels like more could have been done.

The larger grid and Avalanche sequences are helpful, but these are common Megaways features. The Wish Master feature remains entertaining, especially with 2 or 3 modifiers active. The 27,018x potential is a major improvement over the original. The Wish Master Megaways is a decent game that could have been great with more effort.
