The figure of notorious Jack the Ripper who kept the London district of Whitechapel in terror back between 1888 and 1891 still remains one of the most mysterious and popular in pop culture, and there have been numerous movies, TV shows, etc devoted to the unidentified serial killer. The slots world is no exception, with this slot game being deeply inspired by the horrific murderer. Here, players are to travel back to Victorian-era London to unsolve the mystery of eleven murders for the chance to get rewarded up to 10,000x the bet.

The design team has very well managed to convey the enigmatic and frightening atmosphere, as the game puts shivers down your spine from the first seconds after you load in. The spooky ambient sounds, music, and bloody symbols altogether provide deep horror aesthetics.

Anyway, the game plays out across a large 6x4 reel setup with an all-ways pay system, providing 4,096 win lines on each spin. You need to land at least 3 of the same symbols adjacently on the reels to achieve a payout. There are 10 regular symbols involved, which are divided into two sections. Whenever a win is scored, the Cascading Wins mechanic comes into play. All winning symbols get removed from the reels, and new ones tumble down from above to fill empty spaces. The process continues until no more new winning combos are made.

Any of the symbols except for Scatters can land with Chaos Multipliers attached to them. In the base game, from two to five 2x Multipliers are placed on the symbols, and if such a symbol participates in a win, that payout is increased. If there is more than one Multiplier in a winning combination, the values are added together. After a symbol with a Multiplier pays, another symbol with a Multiplier is added to the reels in the following cascade.

Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols simultaneously anywhere in view during the base game activates the Free Spins, awarding 10, 15, 20, or 25 initial spins for 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatters respectively. In the bonus game, landing another 3, 4, 5, or 6 Scatter symbols awards an additional 5, 10, 15, or 20 free games.

The Free Spins always start with a 2x Chaos Multiplier, and once they are used in a win, the next Multiplier to drop on the reels will have by +1 higher value, up to a maximum of 10x. During the feature, Expanding Wilds do not disappear between the cascades, and if there is a Chaos Multiplier attached to the Wild, it increases by +1 after each cascade.

All said and done, The Ripper is definitely a decent slot game, with a lot for players to offer. Increasingly polished art delivers a one-of-a-kind gaming experience, and the gameplay is also pretty cosmic should the features kick in.
