Temple of the Light Review
You could say that Temple of the Light is similar to the book slot genre, and it has clearly borrowed from the popular mechanic. However, you have more flexibility here, due to the 2 bonus round options, and the base game features makes it less of a grind than most similar games. We also like that the features can combine, although this rarely happens during base game play.
Visually, the red or blue laser beams are the highlight when scanning across the reels. The game would look generic without those effects, but don’t expect them to deliver anything of significance all that often. With maximum luck, you can land up to 2,000x wins in the base game when the 2 features combine, but you’ll need the bonus rounds if you want to close in on the 5,000x potential.
Temple of the Light Slot Features
The wild symbol can land on all 5 reels, and it will substitute for all regular pay symbols as wilds usually do. The wild is also the highest value symbol, landing you a 10x win for 5 on a payline. However, the 2 statues on either side of the reels can do their magic to upgrade the wilds you land.
The left-side statue sends out a red beam across the reels, and this initiates the Multiplier Wild Game. Any wilds that land on the following spin adds to a global multiplier that affects any line win. You don’t need to win with the wild symbols in other words, but the number of wilds present determines your multiplier boost as follows:
- 1 wild equals a 2x multiplier
- 2 wild equals a 3x multiplier
- 3 wild equals a 4x multiplier
- 4 wild equals a 5x multiplier
- 5 wild equals a 10x multiplier
The statue on the right-hand side initiates the Expanding Wild Game. All the wild symbols present on the spin that follows will expand to fully cover their respective reels. If both statues become active at the same time, the 2 features are combined. This gives you expanding wilds with a multiplier as described above.
You trigger the Bonus Round by landing 3 scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5, and this gives you 2 options. You can go with the regular free spins feature, or a more volatile “super spins” option. They play out as follows:
- Regular Free Spins - gives you 12 spins with at least 1 statue feature on each spin. You can retrigger the feature by landing 3 new scatters.
- Volatile Super Spins - offers between 3 and 6 spins (randomly selected), with both statue features active on each spin. Retrigger the feature to get 3 to 6 more spins.
The 200 Spins Temple of the Light Slot Experience
We didn’t have much luck in the base game in our test session, but we got a taste of the wild multiplier feature. At the 1-minute mark we trigger the bonus round, and we decided to go for the volatile option. We got only 3 free spins however, and you can see how it all played out in the 2-minute highlights video below.
Review Summary
It’s admittedly kind of cool to see the red and/or blue laser scan across the screen when the Statue features are initiated. The sound effect certainly fits the bill, and the two beams even change into a purple color when they cross each other in the middle. How much you actually benefit from these features however, is an entirely different question.
Many times almost nothing is gained, and this is also true in the volatile bonus round option where you get both features on every spin. We certainly experienced how brutal that volatility can be in our test session, and if you get only 3 spins the bonus round can be over in a blink. Expanding wilds with multipliers up to 10x can deliver in spades when you’re lucky though, and the 5,000x potential seems like a tip of the hat to the book slots Temple of the Light clearly has taken a page from.

If you enjoy Temple of the Light Slot you should also try:
Scroll of Egypt - is a popular mechanic slot, and it plays out on 5 reels with 10 win-both-ways paylines. The main attraction is the expanding symbol bonus round, where you can land payouts up to 500x your stake. The volatility is medium/high, which makes it a bit more forgiving than most similar slots.
Solar Temple - takes you to the damp jungles of central America, and the title comes with 5 reels and 20 win ways. Flaming Sun symbols frame reel positions, and these turn wild on every 10th spin. A multiplier can also come into play, and the bonus round comes with sticky wilds and a 1,000x potential.
Book Of Anunnaki - takes you to the legendary Sumarian culture, and the title plays out on 5 reels with 10 win ways. The Hyper-Jump feature allows you to skip the reel spinning animations altogether, and just see the numbers. This saves you a lot of time if you want the bonus round as quickly as possible.
