Super Wolf Review
The initial success of a Starburst-inspired game encouraged the creation of a follow-up title. Despite a higher max win, the sequel didn't reach the same popularity. This hasn't stopped the launch of a third installment, and Super Wolf is the most original effort so far.
The progressive jackpot is still present. The expanding wild respins feature has been replaced, and you'll now benefit from a stacked walking wild feature instead. The game’s 2,500x potential is linked to the increasing walking wild multiplier, and this follow-up title is essentially what the previous reskin should have been.
Super Wolf Slot Features?
The rainbow-colored gemstone wolf is central to the action, and it’s 1 of 2 wild symbols. The regular wild is a ‘W’, and it substitutes for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combinations. Both wilds can land on reels 2 to 4 only, and a fully stacked Wolf Wild triggers the Howlin’ Respins feature.
The stacked wolf wild will move one step to the left for each respin, and each step increases the multiplier by +1. You need to land the stacked wolf on reel 4 to get the highest possible multiplier of 5x, and this happens on the final respin as the stacked wild moves off the grid. The multiplier increases from 1x to 2x, 3x and 5x, and the game’s potential is tied to the multiplier value as follows:
- 1x multiplier equals a 500x max win potential.
- 2x multiplier equals a 1,000x max win potential.
- 3x multiplier equals a 1,500x max win potential.
- 5x multiplier equals a 2,500x max win potential.
You can also win a progressive jackpot in this game, and it seeds at €2,500. You win the jackpot when you land any combination involving all 5 of the lower value diamond symbols on a payline. Wilds cannot substitute for diamonds, and 0.40% of each bet goes to feed the progressive jackpot.
The 200 Spins Super Wolf Slot Experience
Our 2-minute highlights video starts strong, with a larger Howlin’ Respin win followed by a few stacked regular wild wins. Towards the end, we finally landed the wolf wild fully stacked on reel 4.
Review Summary
While many developers have their Starbust clone, few are proud enough of their copycat efforts to make it into a whole series. This is what has been done, but at least this third installment is somewhat different from the previous two. Super Wolf stands out with a much higher potential of 2,500x your stake, and instead of expanding sticky wild respins, you get walking wild respins with a progressive multiplier.
The volatility is still in the lower end of the spectrum, but perhaps not as low as in the 2 predecessors. Visually, all 3 games are extremely similar, and the obvious Starburst influence is clear. At least Super Wolf is not a straight-up clone, like the other two installments, and the progressive jackpot adds an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Stacked walking wild respins with increasing multiplier | RTP of 95.34% is lower than the 2 predecessors |
| Progressive jackpot starts at €2,500 | |
| Low/medium volatility with 2,500x potential |
If you appreciate Super Wolf Slot you should also try:
An initial hit game spawned this whole series. It’s basically a Starburst clone, but with an even lower potential of only 300x per spin. The progressive jackpot makes up for this however, and it’s probably the reason Starburst fans seem to enjoy this copycat effort.
The second game followed in the footsteps of the first, and it’s basically a reskin of the original game. The math model has been tweaked, and you can now win a bit more per spin than in Starburst. Feature-wise, it’s all about sticky expanding wild respins, and the progressive jackpot.
A highly volatile Starburst clone, and it comes with a 4,000x your stake potential. It’s all about the expanding wild respins feature, as you can imagine, and it’s a good alternative for hardcore gamblers looking for a higher risk/reward experience.
