Strength of Hercules Review
Building tons of muscle is one thing, but knowing how to put your strength to good use is quite another. According to the legend, Hercules killed his whole family in a fit of madness. To make up for this “mistake,” he was famously tasked with the 12 Labors, which included anything from slaying mythological beasts to cleaning a stable full of dung that hadn’t been cleaned in 3 decades.
In Strength of Hercules slot, he’s assigned a different kind of task, namely using his club and fist to rotate the whole grid whenever a RotoGrid symbol appears on the 5x5 grid. You can play with bet levels of €0.1 to €100 per spin, a bet range that caters to most types of players, and you win by landing 3 to 5 matching symbols across up to 3,125 ways. Winning combos must appear on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel.
Different beasts are represented on the premium symbols, awarding 1.5x to 5x your stake for 5-of-a-kind wins. The royal symbols all pay 0.5x your stake for the same, and the Wild symbol pays the same as the top-tier Nemean Lion symbol while also substituting for any pay symbol. With a hit rate of 36 %, you can expect to win something around every 3rd spin on average. Eligible players can increase the bonus round hit rate via the BonusHunt FeatureSpins ante bet option.
There are 2 different bonus rounds in the Strength of Hercules slot, and both features also have a Godly version with even more frequent RotoGrid triggers among other benefits. The top-tier RTP of 96.31 % is a bit above the industry average, but this game allows for lower RTP settings depending on the operator. With medium to high volatility, you can expect some ups and downs, and the Strength of Hercules max win is a solid 10,000x your stake.
Strength of Hercules Features
The innovative RotoGrid mechanic takes center stage in both the base game and the bonus rounds of Strength of Hercules , and there is plenty to cover in the feature department. Let’s dive in!
RotoGrid
The RotoGrid symbol triggers 1, 2, or 3 clockwise rotations of the grid after any wins have been awarded, potentially leading to more wins. The RotoGrid symbol turns wild as the grid rotates a quarter per rotation. If you land more than one RotoGrid symbol, they take turns doing their thing as the rotations from one symbol are finished. You can land up to 3 RotoGrid symbols on the same spin.
Connecting Wilds
The Connecting Wilds mechanic activates during the grid rotations only, filling all positions between two wilds with wild symbols. You can make new wild connections per grid rotation, adding even more wilds to the mix.
Might of Hercules
After any grid rotation, Hercules may smash the grid with his club or fist, turning all instances of a randomly selected low-value royal symbol into wilds.
Bonus Choice
The Bonus Choice menu is triggered when you land 3 or 4 FS scatters in view. Landing 3 scatters gives you the choice between Labors and Labyrinth bonus rounds, while 4 scatters award a choice between the Godly versions of either bonus round.
Labors & Godly Labors Bonus Rounds
The Labors Bonus Round awards 10 free spins and plays out similarly to the base game. The difference is that the RotoGrid symbol hit rate is increased, and the same goes for wild symbols. You win +2 or +4 extra free spins from landing 2 or 3 FS scatters, respectively. In the Godly Labor Bonus Round, the hit rate of RotoGrid and Wild symbols is even higher.
Labyrinth & Godly Labyrinth Bonus Rounds
The Labyrinth Bonus Round starts you off with 8 free spins, and only Skull Blocks, Cracked Stones, Adding Coin, Multiplying Coin, and FS symbols may land. The Adding Coins are worth between 1x and 100x your stake while Multiplying Coins have multiplier values between x2 and x20. Each FS symbol adds +1 extra spin to your free spins tally.
Landing Coin or FS symbols above a Cracked Stone symbol crushes the Cracked Stone, allowing the Coin or FS symbol to drop down until it hits either the bottom of the grid or a Skull Block symbol. If the Coin or FS symbol hits the bottom of the grid, it is collected in a treasure chest. Coins add their value or boost the treasure chest value by its multiplier, depending on the coin type.
After all Coin and FS symbols have dropped as far as they can, Hercules may bump into the grid and trigger the RotoGrid mechanic. The grid will then rotate either clockwise or counter-clockwise, potentially allowing more Coin and FS symbols to reach the bottom of the grid. The Might of Hercules feature can trigger randomly as well, destroying a random amount of Skull Block symbols. Cracked Stone symbols may also be destroyed, spawning Coin or FS symbols in their place.
The Godly Labyrinth Bonus Round plays out the same way, but you get 10 free spins for starters instead of 8. In addition, you can expect higher-value Coin symbols of both kinds to land more frequently.

Theme & Graphics
Hercules is famous for his many heroic deeds, summed up as the 12 Labors where he, among other things, defeated the Nemean Lion and captured the 3-headed dog Cerberus. The Strength of Hercules slot leaves no doubt about the physical potency this heroic legend is wielding, dressed up in the dead Nemean Lion as he is and carrying a massive cudgel. The cartoon-style visuals are quirky and charming, with a lighthearted soundtrack that may become repetitive after a while.

Our Verdict
The RotoGrid mechanic was first seen in another game and it makes a welcome comeback in Strength of Hercules. This provider is known for their willingness and ability to push boundaries while still maintaining their signature style with each new release. The quirkiness of the cartoonish Hercules character makes the atmosphere more lighthearted than a serious depiction of the legendary strongman would have, with the soundtrack underscoring this easy-going vibe.
Strength of Hercules is also a tad less volatile than most releases, and you’re in for a well-balanced gaming experience as usual. This is one thing I really like . They understand how to make the base game not only entertaining but potentially highly rewarding as well. With more than 3,000 ways to win and a grid that rotates while connecting wilds, you get the sense that anything can happen on any given spin.
We also like that Hercules is not simply standing around looking buff, as is the case in many slots from more “lazy” providers. In Strength of Hercules, he is clubbing or hitting the grid with his fist, actively working to increase your winnings as best he can. He’s even more active in the bonus rounds, and it’s good fun seeing him in action. Speaking of, having a choice is never wrong, and both features are highly engaging.
Visually, it’s more fun to attempt to get symbols to tumble into the bottom treasure chests in the Labyrinth bonus rounds. However, the Labor bonus rounds, offering even more RotoGrid action than the base game, can lead to large payouts as well. I ended up rotating between the two features, not quite able to decide which one I liked the most. Anyway, Strength of Hercules is another solid game , and we hope to see more of the RotoGrid mechanic in future releases.
