Like all the slots we review, our 200 spins test gives us a real feel for the game and what it has to offer. Our 200 spins test of Slots O’ Gold started a little slow with spin after spin not delivering any wins. After a fair number of rounds, we were fortunate enough for 2 Wild Leprechauns to land, which activated the Rainbow Respins. The Leprechauns expanded over the entire reel and formed some winning combinations. The respins then took place and delivered a reasonable payout. Then, it was back to regular spins and once again not much happened for an extended period of time, until once again the Rainbow Respins took place, but didn’t reward us with much. Shortly thereafter, 2 reels filled with the Rainbow Gold symbols, which transformed into golden horseshoes but didn’t help to form any combinations. From there on, it was spin after spin with very little action, except for the occasional Rainbow Respins.
Review Summary
Slots O’ Gold is a really simple slot, in fact, it’s way too simple in our opinion and doesn’t offer much when it comes to bonus features. To compete in a saturated niche that offers no shortage of Irish inspired slots, you need something to stand out from the crowd, and unfortunately, this hasn't been achieved. Free Spins is one of the most common features in most modern slots, and it’s something that players have somewhat come to expect and enjoy, but this game doesn't offer this. Slots O’ Gold slot certainly could have done with a Free Spins feature to give it a little more punch. While the graphics are fairly good and the gameplay is simple, we don’t expect this game to be a major hit. Another disappointment is the minimal payouts, that don’t seem to match the medium variance. While simplicity is great from the perspective that you can start spinning without needing to study a help file, in case of this slot, we expect players to become bored very quickly.
