This game expands an existing series, offering new gameplay twists and this time taking us closer to African nature.

Those familiar with the collection would know what’s what here. Central to the gameplay is the popular streak-style respins feature, and there are also a bunch of lucrative extras in the base game and free spins. The game sticks to the traditional formula but brings us a different kind of expanding wilds as well as huge multipliers.

The game comes with a betting range of £0.2 to £50 per spin, which should appeal to many. Traditionally, the max win is capped at 5,100x the stake, and it is supplied in three different RTP settings, with a value of around 96.05% being the highest. Finally, the volatility is in the medium range, so you should get your returns fairly often.

The game plays out across a standard 5x3 reel setup, producing 20 ways to play. Here, 10 different pay symbols appear, including classic A-9 card ranks and different species of African savannah. They are buffaloes, zebras, rhinos, and, of course, lions. The latter also acts as the Wild symbol, substituting for any of the regulars in winning combinations. When 2 Wild symbols appear on the same spin, the Alpha Wild feature comes into play. Once activated, one of the two triggering symbols will expand into a 2x2 Alpha Wild. If the expanded Wild overlaps a Special Golden Nugget, the value shown will be collected.

Special Golden Nuggets are bonus symbols, or rather cash symbols, which display random bet multiplier values, which can be collected by the Alpha Wilds or during the bonus game. There are also Special Strike Nuggets, which basically act as scatters. When 3, 4, or 5 instances appear simultaneously on the reels, a fixed cash payout is awarded, as follows:

• 3 Strike Nuggets - award a Mini Jackpot of 50x the bet.
• 4 Strike Nuggets - award a Minor Jackpot of 250x the bet.
• 5 Strike Nuggets - award a Major Jackpot of 1,000x the bet.

If 6 or more nugget symbols of any kind appear anywhere in view at the same time, the Hold and Win bonus is triggered. Players receive 3 respins to start with and proceed to special reels where only bonus symbols are available. During the respins, all nuggets are sticky and remain held until the very end, including the triggering ones.

When a new nugget appears, the respins tally is reset back to 3. The bonus continues until there are no respins left or the entire grid is filled with bonus symbols. In that case, all nugget values are multiplied by 2x. However, if the reels are filled and there are 5 Strike Nuggets present, the total multiplier is increased to 5x.

Last but not least is the Free Spins feature, triggered by landing at least 3 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels during the base game. You get 5, 10, or 15 spins for 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols respectively.

The free games feature operates in a similar way to the base game, but there are some changes to the Alpha Wilds. If it contributes to a winning combo, that payout is doubled. Plus, if an Alpha Wild expands over a Scatter, an +1 free spin is awarded. Additionally, landing another 3, 4, or 5 Scatters during the feature awards +5, +10, or +15 free spins respectively.

The gameplay here is packed to the brim with fun and most importantly rewarding bonus features and extras, while the math model provides you won't get ripped off during the session.
