Robin Sherwood Marauders Review
Having a visual style that is immediately recognizable is a good way to stand out. Robin Sherwood Marauders comes with an artsy cartoon style visual presentation. The question is, does it bring anything new to the table when it comes to features?
The answer is both yes and no. There is nothing overly innovative to see here, but the developer has put their quirky stamp on things for sure. The Super Bonus Round is something they keep including, and it effectively dangles a carrot for longer gaming sessions. Expanding wilds in the bonus round is not exactly unheard of, but they were highly effective in our test session at least. The 16,000x base game potential (and 35,000x in the bonus round) is surely enough to make this an attractive prospect for more than just fans of the hooded outlaw.

The ‘W’ wild can land on all reels except the first, and it will step in for all regular pay symbols like wilds usually do. The Cascading Wins feature removes all winning symbols from the reels, and a fresh batch drops from above to fill the gap. This process repeats as long as you land new winning combos, and each Cascading Win increases the progressive multiplier by +1.
You trigger the Bonus Round by landing at least 3 treasure chest scatters anywhere in view. Landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters awards 12, 14, 16 or 18 free spins, respectively, and all wilds that land during the bonus round will expand to cover the entire reel.
The expanding wilds are not sticky however, and will be removed from the screen together with the regular winning symbols. You’ll still benefit from the progressive win multiplier, but unlike in many similar setups, it will reset to 1x again when a Cascading Win sequence is over.
When you land 1 or 2 scatters during base game play, they contribute 1-3 points each to the Progress Bar below the reels. You need 292 points to fill the meter, and this awards 12 Super Free Spins. Beware of changing your stake midstream, as this resets the progress meter. That being said, you can always change it back to the previous bet level to regain your progress.
A target filled with multiplier values between 2x and 10x will appear before the Super Bonus Round plays out. Robin shoots an arrow to determine your starting win multiplier, and you will land expanding wilds even more frequently here. The progressive multiplier will still reset between spins, but now it resets to the target value you achieved up front.
The 200 Spins Robin Sherwood Marauders Experience
We trigger the bonus round with 3 scatters around 30 seconds into the 3-minute highlights video you can check out below. The expanding wilds proved to be quite useful, landing us one larger payout after another. A double whammy with 2 expanded wilds, plus a 2x multiplier, landed us an “epic win” towards the end. Hit play to see for yourself how much we got away with in total.
Review Summary
The signature visual style is a refreshing touch. Robin Sherwood Marauders will certainly stick out in the Robin Hood genre, not least since the progressive base game multiplier is capable of dishing out 16,000x your stake.
There is no reason to be turned off by the fact that the bonus round multiplier resets between spins, as you can still land eye-watering 35,000x payouts from it. You also have the Super Free Spins round to look forward to, where the starting/default multiplier can be as high as 10x. While this is another strong release, we’re still waiting for them to let their hair down, and be even more innovative in the features department.
