Road Rage Review
We’ve learned to expect nasty stuff, and we expected a bit more in that department from a release named Road Rage. In a bold move, the developer has stripped this game from all their usual mechanics, but don’t worry, as there are plenty of features to go around even so.
So much so, in fact, that it will take you a while to understand what is going on. This is hardly unusual however, and the base game revolves around Car Wilds with different modifiers. When car wilds crash you can benefit from summed up multipliers, and there are 3 different bonus round tiers to look forward to as well.
Road Rage Slot Features
The 5 premium character symbols pay between 2 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and all cars that appear in this game are Wild symbols. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, but each wild car comes with a unique modifier that depends on the color of the car:
- Yellow Car (Engine Breakdown) - increases the symbol size of all symbols on the same reel by +1.
- Red Car (Drive-By) - adds +1 to the symbol multiplier for all symbols it passes over as it drives from right to left. It then turns into a wild when it stops.
- Green Car (Drive-By) - does the same as the red car, but drives from left to right instead of right to left.
If the Red and Green Cars collide, the multipliers are added together and the total is attached to what becomes a Collading Wild.
Traffic Light Scatters can appear anywhere, and landing only 2 in view triggers a Respin with a guaranteed Wild Car on each triggering reel. You trigger the Morning Rush, H1ighway Jam or City Mayh3m bonus rounds when you land 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view, respectively.
You get Mystery Symbols in all 3 bonus rounds, but only one per reel is allowed. The mystery symbols reveal a color, and if it matches a present car wild the car’s multiplier is increased by +1. If there is no color match between a mystery symbol and a car wild, you get +1 extra spin instead.
The Rage Buff feature plays out before either of the bonus rounds start, and you’ll then see some cars move across the reels. The end result is that you can win extra free spins, higher sticky multiplier increments (including drive-by multiplier increments).
You get the same number of rows in the bonus round as the number of triggering scatters, and you can upgrade to the next tier by landing 1 scatter. In all 3 tiers, you get 1-3 selected Wild Cars that become sticky when they stop. You get a new Rage Buff per bonus round upgrade, and you also get +1 extra spin per sticky wild car when the bonus round upgrades.
Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, have access to the Bonus Buy menu via the yellow star icon. You can pay 66x, 270x or 666x your stake to trigger the 3 features, and the 4th mystery option gives you a 33 % chance for either of the features randomly. The mystery option costs 334x your stake.
The 200 Spins Road Rage Slot Experience
We had a decent time testing Road Rage, but having no mechanic features was a bit surprising. Anyway, we’ve created a brief and edited highlights video for your viewing pleasure as we usually do. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
Having followed closely for a good while now, this is the first time in a long time they’ve slipped up and released something we feel is below par. Not only for the high standards set by the studio’s impressive streak of “slot of the year” contenders, but in general. We are used to the theme being masterfully implemented into the gameplay, but it feels superficial and forced in Road Rage.
The big win story isn’t funny nor engaging like it usually is either, and the overall visual presentation just didn’t impress. It’s almost as if this release was made by a newly hired or external team, but we get that might wanna try something without mechanics once in a while. By all means, Road Rage is a decent slot, and it comes with a solid 36,000x potential, but we don’t think it’s going to see the same level of success that this studio might be used to by now.
| Pros | Cons |

| Colliding cars multiplier wilds | Beware of adjustable RTP ranges |

If you appreciate Road Rage Slot you should also try:
Mad Cars - is a better alternative if you want some car racing action, and this release comes with cars that move from bottom to top to award prizes. The prizes can be boosted by the boost reel modifiers, and the bonus round is a continuous 5-cars race that can land you payouts up to 25,000x your stake.
Karen Maneater - is set in a post-apocalyptic world where cannibalism is literally on the menu. Karen runs a very special KFC-like fast food restaurant, and you get plenty of mechanics in this bizarre and humorous release. The bonus round has 2 tiers, and you can win up to 11,757x your stake.
Cash Truck - is a release in the genre, and this is a solid addition with plenty of action all the way. You’re taken right into a highway heist about to play out, and tumbling wins expand the grid. The bonus round comes with 6 different modifier symbols, and you can win up to 25,000x your stake.
