Rise of Gods: Reckoning Review
Fans of TV series about gods in human form will probably enjoy the concept in Rise of Gods: Reckoning. The deities in question are Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, and they’re all sharply dressed and ready to rock your world as stacked symbols on the quadratic 5x3 grid.
The intro is well-made, and it will suck you into the concept immediately. It almost made us wish this was a branded effort, so we could go watch the actual show after our session. The base game is all about landing stacked gods to increase the multiplier, and it comes with no upper limit as it never resets in the bonus round. You can win up to 5,000x your stake, which is less than what’s available in similar games.
Rise of Gods: Reckoning Slot Features
The 3 premium symbols, consisting of Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, pay between 3 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. The Wild symbol steps in for all pay symbols to help complete wins, and it pays the same as the top-tier Zeus symbol should 3-5 appear on the same payline.
All 3 of the premium gods can land fully stacked. This increases the global win multiplier by +1, giving you an x6 max multiplier for a full screen of stacked gods. The multiplier resets in the base game. The Wrath of Gods feature triggers at random times, syncing two randomly chosen reels. The synced reels will land 2 matching and fully stacked premium god symbols.
You need 3 scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards 6 free spins. Any multiplier you’ve racked up on the triggering spin is carried over into the feature, and the multiplier never resets for the duration of the bonus round. It can keep building via stacked symbols though, and it comes with no upper limit. Landing 1, 2 or 3 scatters on the same free spin awards +1, +3 or +6 extra spins, respectively.
The 200 Spins Rise of Gods: Reckoning Slot Experience
We ran into plenty of dead spins in the base game, but you get to see the Wrath of Gods feature before the bonus round triggers. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Review Summary
The urbanized and sharply dressed Greek gods concept built anticipation as we watched the intro. We’ve tried our fair share of ancient Greek mythology slots by now, and has definitely come up with a refreshing take on the overused theme here. With all the build-up, we couldn’t help but be a little bit disappointed by the actual gameplay, as it became too repetitive too soon.
This very much included the “witness my power” action commentary, and the Wrath of Gods usually delivers mediocre top-up wins anyway. The quadratic grid seems a bit compressed for such a cinematographic presentation, and 6 free spins seems a bit cramped as well. The non-resetting multiplier can lead to exciting moments though, but there’s an imbalance between how much energy went into the presentation, as opposed to the actual gameplay.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Stacked god symbols increase multiplier | Doesn’t quite live up to the intro hype |
| 2 stacked & synced god reels at random times | Beware of adjustable RTP ranges |
| FS w/ non-resetting multiplier and extra spins | |
| Win up to 5,000x your stake |
