Rick And Morty Strike Back Review
A developer renowned for its impressive portfolio of branded slots, has once again teamed up with the iconic animated duo, Rick and Morty, for their latest release; Rick and Morty Strike Back. This marks the 3rd installment in their successful Rick and Morty slot series, following the popular Rick and Morty Megaways and Rick and Morty Wubba Lubba Dub Dub, both launched in 2020. Fans of the show will undoubtedly revel in the game's immersive animations and witty action commentary.
The base game revolves around the Cash Collection feature, offering the chance to snag prizes of up to 2,500x your stake. The action is further amplified by 5 random Portal Gun modifiers, and Rick himself occasionally steps in to transform losing spins into winning ones. The abundance of features and modifiers ensures plenty of action. The game also boasts 4 distinct bonus rounds, each packed with unique twists, modifiers, and the potential for massive payouts reaching up to 10,000x your stake.
Rick and Morty Strike Back caters to a wide range of players with its flexible bet levels, ranging from a budget-friendly £/€0.1 to a more substantial £/€25 per spin. The game unfolds on a 6-reel, 4-row grid with 4,096 ways to win, and you win by landing matching symbols on 3+ adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. While the top-tier RTP of 95 % falls slightly below the industry average, this medium to high volatility game also comes with lower RTP settings. The premium symbols award 2x to 5x your stake for 6-of-a-kind wins, while the royals offer 1x to 1.5x for the same.
Rick And Morty Strike Back Features
You get the familiar cash collection feature in the base game of Rick And Morty Strike Back slot, and you can unlock and choose from 4 different bonus rounds. Let’s take a closer look!
Cash Collect
You can land Collect symbols on reels 1 and 6, and all instances of the Collect symbols collect all Cash Prize and Cashpot symbols in view. The cash prize symbols land with smaller values, while the Mini, Major, or Mega Cashpot symbols award 20x, 200x, or 2,500x your stake, respectively.
Random Modifiers
The Portal Gun can appear at random times, and this triggers the Portal Stike feature with the following options of modifiers:
- Morty Moolah - adds additional Cash symbols to the grid.
- Bonus Blast - adds at least 1 scatter symbol to the grid.
- Cosmic Cash - boosts to the value of all present Cash symbols.
- Rick Repeat - turns the cash symbols sticky for respins until you land a non-cash symbol spin.
- Schwifty Add - collects all present Cash symbols up to 5 times.
Rick may randomly pop up on non-winning spins, and he will then rearrange symbols to give you a win.
Scatter Symbols And Bonus Round Menu
You need 3+ scatter symbols in view to trigger the Bonus Round choice menu, and there are 4 bonus rounds to choose from when all of them are unlocked. The Rick C-137 and Morty Spins bonus rounds are unlocked from the start, and you need to select each feature once to unlock the Rick Prime and Evil Morty bonus rounds. Landing 3, 4, or 5 triggering scatters award 20x, 100x, or 500x your stake upfront, respectively.
Rick C-137 Free Spins
You cannot land cash, cashpot, or collect symbols in this bonus round, and the top-tier symbol is replaced by the special Rick C-137 symbol. You get 8 free spins and all wilds are collected in the Rick C-137 Trail. Every 3 wilds collected boosts the payout value of the Rick C-137 symbol. You win +4, +8, +12, +20, or +30 extra free spins from landing 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols on the same free spin, respectively.
Morty Free Spins
As a polar opposite to the feature above, the Morty Bonus Round lands you nothing but cash, cashpot, and collect symbols, in addition to special Morty Multiplier symbols. You start with 1 free spin and you’re guaranteed to land a collect and cash symbol per spin, meaning every spin is a winner. Morty Multiplier symbols boost the win according to its multiplier value, and the multipliers are added together if more than one lands. You get to Pick A Portal as the feature ends, giving you +1 Morty free spin or ending the bonus round.
Rick Prime Free Spins
Is another 8-free spins round with no cash, cashpot, or collect symbols, and it’s all about the Rick Prime Elimination feature. Wilds are collected in the Rick Prime Trail, and every 3 wilds collected eliminates the lowest-value premium symbol and awards +2 extra spins. The goal is to eliminate all symbols but the special Rick Prime symbol, which replaces the regular top-tier symbol for this feature. You win +4, +8, +12, +20, or +30 extra free spins from 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters in view, respectively.
Evil Morty Free Spins
Once again, you’ll land only cash, cashpot, and collect symbols, in addition to the special Evil Morty symbol. You start with 1 free spin and are guaranteed a win per spin since the collect symbol plus one cash and cashpot symbol are bound to land. The Evil Morty symbol unleashes 1 of the following 3 modifiers:
- Boost - increase the value of all present cash symbols.
- Max - boosts all cash symbol values to match the highest present value.
- Collector - absorbs all cash values before being collected by the collector symbol.
The Pick A Portal feature manifests after each spin, awarding either +1 extra free spin or the Collect that ends the bonus round.

Our Verdict
Full disclosure; I'm not a die-hard fan of the Rick and Morty show, and that undoubtedly influenced my perception of this branded slot game. To address the elephant in the room up front, I found the action commentary repetitive and, honestly, somewhat annoying. Fans of the cartoon show might disagree, but I have to be honest about my experience. That said, the game does offer a plethora of animations and soundbites that should appease most fans, much like its predecessors.
The Cash Collection feature is enhanced by the ability to land collector symbols on both reels 1 and 6, each instance collecting all prizes and cashpots in view. The potential for massive base game wins is never wrong, but it seems to come at a price in this game. Despite the stated 1 in 200 spins hit frequency for the bonus round choice menu, I found myself triggering it surprisingly often. This could be mere coincidence, of course, but the price for frequent triggers and a solid base game potential seems to be lackluster bonus rounds that often fizzle out. The two features starting with just one spin can end in a flash, so be prepared for potential disappointments.
The 95 % top-tier RTP is a bit underwhelming as well, but this is hardly a dealbreaker. The 10,000x potential seems more realistic than the 50,000x you get in the predecessors, and we’re pretty sure fans will prioritize the overall experience instead of nitpicking over minor details as we do here. Ultimately, Rick and Morty Strike Back is a decent slot for those who can tolerate the squeaky voiceovers and absurd humor. It's a game that caters primarily to fans of the show, and they'll likely appreciate the immersive world and potential for big wins.
