Despite not being particularly big, some studios are definitely more active on the market than others. It’s easy to see why, though, and the reason isn’t particularly great. It’s primarily because they focus on simpler games that don’t have complex themes and features, which naturally allows the team to release a lot of games in a relatively short amount of time. With Reels on Fire, we have yet another one of those more straightforward slots, and it takes place on a layout with 4 reels, 3 rows and 5 winlines. There’s also a bonus fifth reel, and we’ll get to it when talking about the slot’s gameplay features.

The theme of Reels on Fire is decidedly fruity, and that means that there isn’t a lot of excitement to look forward to. The visuals are modern, though, and we’d even dare to say that the production values are above average overall. It’s definitely an easy slot to look at, though it’s not original by any stretch of imagination.

The volatility of Reels on Fire is medium, and its jackpot is quite solid at 4,800x your bet. Things can get very grindy indeed, however, as the hit frequency of Reels on Fire is only 8.64%. There are 10 pay symbols in Reels on Fire, and they are split between three low pays, four mid pays, and three high pays. The game’s low pays feature cherries, lemons, and oranges, all of which are worth 4x your bet for a set of 4. Then, there are plums, strawberries, melons, and grapes, which can net you up to 12x your stake for a four-of-a-kind combination. Finally, there are BARs, horseshoes, and sevens, with sevens being the most valuable symbols of them all. For a set of four, you’ll get 40x your bet!

Aside from pay symbols, you can also get Wilds on the main reels. They substitute for other symbols to complete winning combinations, and they also come with payout values of their own. If you get a set of four, you’ll walk away with 200x your stake!

We’ve already hinted at there not being much in the way of gameplay in Reels on Fire, and that’s indeed correct. The only real gameplay feature has to do with its win multipliers, which appear on the bonus fifth reel and which can take values of 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x. These multipliers get applied to corresponding payline wins, even if reel 4 doesn’t participate, but they aren’t guaranteed to land.

Players can also use the Gamble feature and try to boost their wins that way. It’s a simple card minigame that you can use to risk your winnings, but, as always, you can actually lose it all if you do poorly.

Review Summary

While there is a certain appeal to straightforward slots like Reels on Fire, we’re afraid that some studios are releasing them way too often. This particular game has only multipliers for you to enjoy, and that is nowhere near enough in this day and age, especially since it isn’t coupled with a solid math model, either. Therefore, we find it hard to recommend Reels on Fire to anyone but the biggest fans of simple slots.
