Reel Spooky King Megaways Review
The ‘trick or treat’ concept has become increasingly popular. Halloween has roots in ancient traditions. Reel Spooky King Megaways is a seasonal reskin, featuring a vampire version of the Reel King.
While the original version has been a success, this "spooky" version may not have the same appeal. The RTP has been reduced from 96.23 % to 95.56 %, although the volatility is slightly lower. If you enjoy this holiday, then perhaps, but many may prefer the original.
Reel Spooky King Megaways Features
The Witch Hat Wild can appear on the top reel only, substituting for all regular symbols. The Cauldron symbol is the most valuable, awarding 50x your stake for 6-oak. Other symbols pay between 0.8 and 7.5x your stake for the same.
Each win triggers the Cascade feature, removing winning symbols and replacing them with new symbols. This continues as long as you land new winning combinations.
Between zero and 6 reels may appear with a yellow color, starting from the leftmost reel. These are "Lit Reels", and they make a 'ding' sound. You get +1 Lit reel per consecutive cascading win, and getting all 6 reels triggers the Reel King feature. One or two more cascades triggers the Super King and Spooky King version, respectively.
These 3 Reel King versions award 1-2, 2-3 or 3 to 6 Mini Slots. Each Mini Slot has 1 payline, and only blanks or pumpkin symbols land. The Mini Slots have Lit Reels, and when all 3 reels are lit you move along the Free Spins Trail. A Mini Slot disappears if you lose, unless all 3 reels are lit.
The Reel King feature continues until you run out of Mini Slots, and the goal is the Spooky King Free Spins feature. If you reach the free spins part, you can gamble for more free spins via the gamble wheel, or reduce the number of spins to zero.
The Spooky King Bonus Round has a progressive win multiplier that increases by +1 per cascading win. The multiplier is unlimited, and each cascading win turns one reel red from left to right. The Lit reels remain until all 6 reels are red, increasing spins by 1-3, and adding 0, +1, +2 or +3 to the multiplier.
The 200 Spins Reel Spooky King Megaways Experience
We played for a while in the base game, eventually triggering the lowest tier Reel King feature. We achieved 9 free spins. The bonus round plays out after.
Review Summary
This seasonal clone offers the same features with a "spooked up" presentation.
The RTP has decreased from 96.23 % to 95.56 %. Is the theme enough to overlook that? Time will tell, but the original game might be preferred.
