We don’t mind a classic looking fruit machine inspired session once in a while, and especially not when it comes with interesting features to boot. Red Hot Cherry comes with a colorful and juicy fruit slot appearance, and the base game is pretty much stripped for features. You can get a few extra cherry symbols at random times though, but these do nothing unless you land enough to trigger the Hot Spins round.

The combined value of the triggering cherry prizes becomes the fixed value of all instant prize cherry symbols that land in the feature. These can further be doubled by the Double Up symbols, and in the VIP version the cherry prize may be boosted by up to an x50 multiplier up front. This can lead to pretty solid instant cherry prizes, but the symbol can be elusive and you get only 5 initial Hot Spins to boot. Still, up to 5,000x your stake payouts are possible, which makes this an attractive prospect for fans of the classic style genre.

Red Hot Cherry Slot Features

The symbols pay between 1.5 and 25 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Red Cherry symbol takes center stage. This is not a regular pay symbol, but it comes with random values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 15x, or 20x your stake. The Red Cherry appears in 1 or 2 positions on reels 1, 3, and 5 in the base game, and it can land fully stacked on all 5 reels during the Hot Spin feature. The Cherry symbol only pays during the Hot Spins feature.

The Cherry Bomb feature can trigger at random times in the base game, and it gives you 1 or 2 cherry symbols. This increases your Hot Spins and Bonus Wheel chances, and you can expect the Hot Spins bonus round to trigger 1 in 177 spins on average. This feature may also give you the golden cherry.

The Hot Spins Bonus Round triggers from at least 3 cherry symbols in view, or when you land 2 cherry symbols and a golden cherry symbol that can only appear on reel 5. You get 5 Hot Spins either way, and if you trigger the Hot Spins with the golden cherry you also get the Bonus Wheel feature. Hot Spins is where the red cherry symbols finally pay, and it’s possible to land a full screen of nothing but cash prize cherry symbols during the feature.

The combined value of the triggering cherry prizes become the value of all cherry symbols that land in the bonus round. If you get the Bonus Wheel from the golden cherry, it spins to give you a multiplier between x2 and x50. This multiplier applies to the total value of the triggering cherries, and this then becomes the value of all cherries that land during the feature.

You can also land a Double Up symbol during Hot Spins, and it will appear on the 5th reel only. This symbol doubles the value of all red cherry prizes, and it also adds +1 extra spin to your tally. The red cherry symbol values will remain doubled until the feature ends, and one red cherry symbol can be worth a lot under the right conditions.

Finally, the Bonus Buy Menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. If eligible, you can pay 60x your stake to get 3 triggering red cherry symbols, but this spin will not give you any line wins (RTP of 96.32 %). The VIP Bonus can be purchased for 150x your stake (RTP of 96.46 %), and this gives you the Hot Spins round with the Multiplier Wheel spin up front.

Review Summary

If you like colorful and glossy classic-inspired slots you can hardly go wrong with what’s on offer in Red Hot Cherry. The base game isn’t all that eventful, but you do get the Cherry Bomb feature on a fairly regular basis. You’re basically just spinning along, hoping for that “juicy” golden cherry to appear together with at least 2 red cherries. The regular bonus round is decent as well, but it becomes far more exciting if you get a solid multiplier from the wheel.

The bonus round triggers fairly often as well, or once in 177 spins on average to be precise. Purchasing the feature can be tempting, and 150x for the VIP version seems reasonable. It’s possible to get massive cherry symbol values via the multiplier wheel, and these can then be doubled up to multiple times from the Double Up symbol. You get only 5 initial Hot Spins though, and sometimes you will hardly see any cherry prizes. It’s a hit or miss bonus round for sure, but landing up to 5,000x your stake is possible on a good day.
