Instead of a shoot ‘em up, this game is about taking down barriers to reach the next, more lucrative level. The cluster pays engine has alien critters, special modifiers, and constant action. Shutting down all 15 barriers takes you to the bonus game, hard to reach but with potential for significant wins.
Reapers Slot Features
You land blocker tiles and/or active symbols on the 8x8 cluster pays grid, needing between 5 and 25+ matching symbols in a cluster to win. Payouts reach up to a multiple of your stake for a large winning cluster, and there are no wild symbols.
Each grid represents a barrier on the way to the Bonus Round, and you need to unlock 15 barriers to get there. Barriers come in groups of varying sizes, and a barrier is simply the game grid you play on. Winning clusters get a corresponding Reaper symbol next to it, and all adjacent matching symbols/clusters turn into Energy Cells.
These Energy Cells are collected, and the Reaper symbol gets 1 charge per 5 collected energy cells. You need a charge to remove the barrier; more charges are needed further along the 15 barrier trail.
Reaper symbols have unique special abilities, triggered when a Power Core symbol is collected. This happens when the Power Core is adjacent to the Reaper symbol, giving you the following modifiers:
- Energizer - makes all Reaper symbols generate one Energy charge.
- Linker - connects Reapers so they can collect from each other.
- Transformer - turns remaining purple symbols into another type of symbol.
- Expander - collects symbols in a 4x4 sized area.
- Multiplier - boosts collected winnings.
The Bonus Game comes with a specific hit rate, and as mentioned, you need to remove all 15 barriers to get there. The feature has 5 levels, and you’ll collect energy cells to progress to higher levels as you tunnel through the grids. A critter symbol is removed per level, and cluster wins are picked up as well. Specific amounts of Energy Cells are needed to progress to higher levels.
