Rave Party Fever Review
After many years of experience you sometimes feel like you’ve seen it all. It’s therefore always a pleasant surprise when an original game is presented for review. Rave Party Fever is such a game, and it has to do with how well the DJ theme has been executed. It evokes the feeling of a rave party, and it’s one of the most exciting releases.
This developer has an ability to come up with new twists to a similar blueprint, and with Rave Party Fever they’ve really nailed it. Activation symbols give you up to 3 modifiers, and these prolong your cascading winning streaks in all stages of the game. The uncapped progressive multiplier kicks in as all 3 modifiers kickstart your bonus round, and it goes on until you land a non-winning spin or hit the 5,000x win cap.
Rave Party Fever Slot Features
You need between 5 and 25+ matching symbols to touch either vertically or horizontally to win, and winning symbols explode via the Cascading mechanic. This makes new and/or existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps, and the process repeats as long as you keep landing new winning clusters. The DJ lady Wild symbol steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, and she holds no value of her own.
You will see that 3 Activation Spots randomly appear behind the positions per spin, and these spots are yellow, green, and red. You trigger the corresponding modifier when winning symbols are removed above an Activation Spot, and the modifiers are activated by the DJ above the grid when the current cascading sequence comes to an end.
If you have more than one modifier stored, they play out in the following order:
- Bass Blast - removes all low-value royal symbols from the grid, which triggers a cascade.
- Mass Transform - adds 10 of the same randomly chosen premium symbol to the grid, and these replace other symbols.
- Wild Deejay - adds 7 Wild symbols to random positions on the grid, which may help land you a larger payout.
You cannot hold more than one instance of each modifier at the same time. All winning symbols are also collected in the meter above the grid, but the meter resets to zero between cascading sequences. You need to collect 65+ winning symbols to trigger the Bonus Round, and it starts as soon as the current cascading sequence ends.
As the Bonus Round starts, all 3 modifiers described above take turns playing out, and then the regular Activation Spot system becomes active after that. The Progressive Win Multiplier starts at x1, and it increases by +1 per Cascading Win. It comes with no upper limit, and you get indefinite free spins until you land a non-winning spin with no modifier.
Review Summary
Having tried many installments lately, we have to say that Rave Party Fever is one of the most impressive releases we have seen. The DJ girl above the grid is skilled, and it’s a joy to see the different modifiers being triggered by her. The effects are good, and it adds up to a highly entertaining base game.
The Bonus Round starts out strong, as all 3 modifiers play out one after another, and then the Activation Spots start in hopes to trigger more. The only downside is that the FS round may fizzle out. However, you need that initial boost to keep you going as long as possible, or at least secure somewhat of a decent win from the feature if all else fails. Up to 4,699x your stake is possible in Rave Party Fever (realistically), and this one deserves to be released for the big screen as well.
