Some animals are known to steal food from others of their kind as they hunt, and they are usually battle-scarred from taking such a risk. The 3 characters you get to meet in Rascal Riches are more clever than scary, however, as they stand on each other's shoulders wearing a trench coat and hat to blend in. They’re looking to rob that golden trash can, which can lead to payouts up to a solid 9,000x your stake.

The cartoonish visuals come with hilarious animations, and not least when the full-reel Wild attempts to walk across the grid. When it finds a reel to cover, up to 3 different modifiers can be unleashed, and you can also get more than one of each modifier type. You get this feature on every bonus round spin, and it ends with a climactic final free spin that awards a random multiplier up to x100. Rascal Riches is as formulaic as a heist movie, but it’s still a highly entertaining game.

The premium character symbols pay between 0.8 and 1.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild will activate itself at random times. It covers a full reel when it appears, and the symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve line wins. It’s basically the 3 characters standing on each other with a trench coat disguise, and the wild walks to a random reel from the uttermost right.

What’s more, each of the 3 characters in the disguise can unleash a modifier, and these work as follows:

• Multiplier - of x2, x3, or x5, and these are additive multipliers that will boost all wins on the current spin.

The Bonus Round triggers from scatter symbols, and you need 3 on reels 1, 3, and 5, respectively, to get the feature with 5 free spins awarded. You get the Wild on every bonus round spin, and it walks to a random reel each time.

The scatter gives you a random win multiplier of x20, x30, x50, or x100 for the final free spin, and it will boost all winnings on that spin. Wild multipliers are added to the Multiplier before the total multiplier is applied.

Review Summary

Well, the theme of this game is certainly hilarious enough, with a trio of characters dressing up in a trench coat in search of the ‘golden trash can’. It plays out like a heist movie parody or something, and it’s good fun to watch the trio do their balancing act across the grid when the Wild feature triggers. It seemed to trigger quite frequently as well, at least in our test session, but the results will, of course, vary.

Sometimes you get zero modifiers, while at other times all 3 of them get their thinking hats on to unleash some goodies onto the grid. You can expect mostly top-up wins even with modifiers in the base game, of course, but larger payouts are possible via the multiplier modifier. You get the Wild on each bonus round spin, and everything builds up to the climatic final multiplier spin. This can land you payouts up to 9,000x your stake, or it can be a dud with nothing to show for it. The tension is there until it happens either way, and the feature certainly gave us a taste for more at least.
