Known for their popular games, the game developer has recently started to explore new avenues and niches. Power Vault is a throwback to the slot machine roots, offering a simplistic visual presentation, albeit with a modern twist and polish. The game plays out on a classic 3x3 grid, set against a purple backdrop with a jazzy soundtrack keeping the energy going.
Winning symbols are mostly borrowed from the classic fruit machines as well, with a red lucky number 7 leading the pack. Don’t expect too many regular pay symbol wins in this game though, but we’ll get to that in a second. The pay symbols award between 1x and 50x your stake for 3 of a kind wins, paying across up to 5 different paylines. There are no bonus buy or ante bet options in this game, but Power Vault does come with a decent set of bonus features. In addition, each of these special symbols is collected in the Power Vault above the reels, eventually triggering the bonus game at random times.
The bonus game can trigger organically from any given spin also, and it’s a hold & win-style feature where at least one collect symbol is sticky from the get-go. A new Enhancer Reels row is added during the bonus, boosting your prizes and collector symbols with multiplier and addition symbols. This is a low volatility release, and the top-tier RTP is a decent 96.41 % (beware of RTP ranges though). The 4,112x max win is solid for this volatility level, and Power Vault has a certain charm if you’re into classic slots.

Instant Prize & Jackpot Collection
The Instant Prize symbols appear on reels 1 and 3 only, displaying values between 1x and 25x your stake. Jackpot symbols can also land on the leftmost and rightmost reels, in the form of Mini, Minor, Mega, and Grand symbols worth 15x, 50x, 100x, or 1,000x your stake, respectively.
However, you need the Collector symbol in view to collect these prizes, and the Collector symbol can only land on the middle reel. You can land up to 3 Collector symbols on the same spin though, and each instance collects all present prize and jackpot symbols. When collected symbols are removed, a dud symbol replaces them. This is a dead symbol that does nothing.
Power Vault Burst
The Power Vault perched at the top of the grid collects all instant prize, jackpot, and collector symbols that land, offering a chance to trigger the Power Vault Burst feature each time. When the feature finally triggers, the Power Vault adds prize, jackpot, and collector symbols to the grid, triggering the bonus game.
Bonus Game
You can also trigger the Bonus Game organically in the base game, by landing a prize or jackpot symbol on both reels 1 and 3 together with a collector symbol on the middle reel. You start with 3 free spins, and the tally resets each time a new prize or collector symbol appears. An additional top row with 3 Enhancer Reels come into play, landing multiplier and Addition symbols.
Multiplier symbols of x2, x3, and x5 can appear on all 3 Enhancer Reels, with an x10 symbol being possible on reels 1 and 3 only. The multiplier symbols from reels 1 and 3 boost all present prizes before being added to all present collector symbols. The middle reel multiplier symbols boost all present prize symbols, but are not added to the collectors.
The Addition symbol adds their prize values between 1x and 100x to instant prize symbols, increasing their value accordingly. Addition symbols on reels 1 and 3 are also added to collector symbols, while the middle reel Addition symbols are only added to the collector symbols.

Framed by shimmering silver, the 3x3 grid is set against a purple wallpaper pattern backdrop, with a vault and some gold coins perched above the reels. You will land classic fruit machine symbols like lucky number 7s, bells, and BARs, in addition to fruits like strawberry, orange, and blueberry. The jackpots are stacked up on the left-hand side, right below the game logo, and the spinning is accompanied by a funky, upbeat soundtrack.

Our Verdict
Power Vault is hardly what you may expect from the game developer, a provider known for high risk-reward games. However, you can’t blame the creative studio for trying something new once in a while, and Power Vault is not really the simple and harmless fruit slot it appears to be at first glance.
The design is polished without being anything too special, not least compared to most of the game developer’s previous releases. It gets the job done though, with a pleasant spin pace as long as you keep the turbo switched on. The funky soundtrack fits the bill as well, creating a pleasant atmosphere that may appeal to fans of this genre. If you want something with more teeth, flair, Push Gaming offers plenty of that in their catalog from before anyway.
Power Vault is an unpretentious release that will appeal to a certain crowd, but hardly to everyone. I do like that you can collect solid cash and jackpot prizes also in the base game though, and that you can land up the 3 collector symbols to triple your haul. The Power Vault Burst feature ensures that no special symbols go to waste, but don’t expect much from the regular pay symbols in this game. It’s relatively rare to even see a pay symbol win, but top up wins from collected jackpot symbols can be expected regularly.
The hold & win-style Bonus Game is the main attraction, with the Enhancer Reels stealing the show. It not only boosts your prize symbols by up to solid amounts, but can even upgrade your collector symbol (or symbols) at the same time. While the 4,112x win cap may not compare to the game developer’s many heavy hitters, it’s certainly a respectable potential for a low volatility game like this. Overall, not quite my cup of tea, but still better than many fruit slots I’ve tried over the years.
