We’ve been to ancient Egypt, we’ve visited the grim underworld and we’ve even met a whole pantheon of Greek deities in the Power of Gods™ debut, Power of Gods™: The Pantheon. The time has come to revisit Greek mythology, as Power of Gods™ Medusa, not surprisingly, revolves around the mythological female that could turn men to stone with her hideous snake-face appearance.
This is one of few, if any, Medusa slots that actually managed to frighten us a little, but we’re not gonna serve up any spoilers up front in that regard. The game revolves around the Hold the Jackpot bonus game, where you’ll benefit from special Medusa accumulator symbols and mystery symbols. Jackpots up to 2,000x can be won, and you can choose your own volatility and game pace from 3 alternatives, as usual.
Power of Gods™ Medusa Slot Features
The Medusa Wild steps in for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations, but the wild holds no value of its own. The 3 Jackpot Symbols pay 20x 50x, and 150x your stake, respectively, and the sole feature in this game is the hold-and-win style Hold the Jackpot Bonus Game.
You need 6+ blank mirror bonus symbols to trigger the Hold the Jackpot feature, and some of the bonus symbols land with a number up to 9 attached. This is a countdown number, so the relevant bonus symbols remain sticky on the reels for the given number of spins. The triggering bonus symbols then remain sticky on an otherwise cleared 5x3 grid, and you start with 3 respins when the feature is triggered.
The respins tally resets to 3 again for each new non-blank symbol you land, and the standard bonus symbols are worth 1-10x, 12x or 15x your stake per symbol. You can also land Mini, Minor and Major jackpot symbols, and these pay 20x, 50x and 150x your stake, respectively. More than one jackpot can land, and filling the grid with bonus/jackpot symbols awards the 2,000x Grand Jackpot on top of everything else.
In addition to the regular bonus and jackpot symbols, you can also land Medusa symbols, Mystery symbols and Medusa Mystery symbols. The Medusa symbol accumulates all present values from regular bonus symbols and other Medusa symbols, while the Mystery symbol can turn into a regular bonus symbol, a medusa symbol or a jackpot symbol. The Medusa Mystery symbol guarantees 1 of the 3 jackpot symbols.

Review Summary
The game has definitely cracked the code when it comes to game pace, and neither of the 3 settings feels the least bit awkward. As usual, you also have the freedom to choose your own preferred volatility, and this goes for the bonus round as well (if you’re eligible to purchase it). The countdown bonus symbols can be helpful to trigger the feature, but the base game offers nothing but single spin payouts up to 400x your stake at best.
The Hold the Jackpot feature is initiated by a pretty nasty-looking Medusa snake face, and it reminded us of one of those maze scare pranks you find tons of on YouTube. The bonus sticks out because of the Medusa and Mystery symbols, and it’s fun to see the snakes grab all present cash values when Medusa lands. The 2,500x potential is mediocre at best, so we would recommend going with the standard volatility for this release.
