All winning symbols are removed from the reels, and new symbols drop from above. This is the Cascading Wins feature that’s common in Megaways engine games. The 2 to 7 symbols per reel, and up to 117,649 regular win ways, adds unpredictability to each spin.
There are 3 unique wild features, and the Monkey Wild will remove all low-value symbols. It will then become sticky for the cascading sequence. You will collect treasure map symbols as you play, and this helps move a ship along the map that covers the top reel.
