This is how Pirate Golden Age seems to us, and it comes with no base game features and an uninspired math model that will hardly impress any experienced punters.
There is something uninspired over the whole thing actually, from the more or less static symbols to the annoying soundtrack. The treasure island backdrop is decent though, but most of it is hidden behind the pitch black grid. You get a bonus round with a somewhat innovative mystery symbol accumulation system, and the 3,000x potential is as mediocre as the game itself.

The premium symbols pay between 6.25 and 7.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the pirate skull Wild steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. The wild symbol pays the same as the top-tier pirate captain symbol if you land pure wild wins. The base game comes with no other bonus features.
The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3+ bonus symbols on the same base game spin, and you win 2x, 20x or 200x your stake from 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view, respectively. You start with 7 free spins either way, and you get a golden mystery symbol during the feature. All mystery symbols turn into the same random symbol, and they are collected between free spins.
The collected mystery symbols are then randomly placed on the grid for the next spin, and mystery symbols can land on top of each other to generate a multiplier. New releases are always exciting, and we understand the temptation to churn out a mediocre pirate-themed slot and call it a day. This is exactly how Pirate Golden Age came across to us at least, and it’s got shelf-filler written all over it. The base game is a tedious grind with no extras to liven things up, and after a while you wish the grid was transparent so more of the backdrop was visible.
The game lacks spark, creativity and punch, and it’s as far from a swashbuckling and daring adventure as a pirate slot can be. At least add mystery symbols also to the base game to give people a teaser of what’s to come in the bonus round, but no, there is nothing. They do their thing in the bonus round though, but the 3,000x potential is hardly enough to keep anyone engaged for very long with this release.
