Piggy Blitz Disco Gold Review
Piggy Blitz Disco Gold is the sequel to Piggy Blitz, released around a year before this follow-up. The 6x4 grid is set against a gameshow-like backdrop, complete with flashing lights and more of a disco vibe this time. The game's mascot, Piggy, is appropriately dressed for the occasion, sporting fancy sunglasses, a slicked-back hairstyle, and a stylish leather jacket. With a betting range from €0.10 to €100 per spin, the game caters to all types of players.
Winning combinations are formed by landing matching symbols on 3+ adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, and just like its predecessor, Piggy Blitz Disco Gold slot offers 4,096 Payways. The symbols include a top-tier Diamond that pays out for 2-of-a-kind wins and awards 8x your stake for 6-of-a-kind. Neon-styled bells, dice, and casino chips make up the remaining premium symbols, offering payouts between 3x and 5x your stake for 6-of-a-kind. The classic royal symbols (A, K, Q, J, 10) are also present, awarding 1x or 2x your stake for 6-of-a-kind.
In addition to standard wins, you can collect Coin Prizes during the base game, including jackpot prizes that can reach up to 1,000x your stake. A unique feature of this Piggy Blitz Disco Gold game is the golden piggy bank perched atop the grid. This piggy bank collects any unclaimed Coin Prizes, which can randomly award a prize worth up to 5,000x your stake whenever the golden piggy bank collects at least one coin.
Unlike the original, this sequel features 2 bonus rounds. The Blitz Spinz Bonus guarantees a Piggy Bank collector symbol on every spin and it also introduces a special coin prize worth 150x your stake, in addition to the jackpot coins. Piggy Blitz Disco Gold also includes a Free Spins Bonus, where only the Diamond and royal symbols appear alongside scatters. Collecting scatters upgrades the random win multiplier range and awards extra free spins. The game’s volatility is medium (6 out of 10) and the top-tier RTP is an above-average 96.29 %.
Piggy Blitz Disco Gold Features
You get cash coins and jackpot prize collection in the base game, as well as in the Blitz Spinz bonus. A free spins feature with 4 levels has also been included in Piggy Blitz Disco Gold, so let’s check out how it all works in more detail.
Cash Coins
Cash Coins can land with regular bet multiplier values between 0.5x and 25x your stake, or jackpot values of 100x (Minor), 250x (Major), and 1,000x (Mega). To collect these prizes you need the Piggy Bank symbol in view, and it can land on the leftmost and rightmost reels. Only one instance of the Piggy Bank symbol can appear on each reel, and landing 2 Piggy Bank symbols collects all present prizes twice. If you land 2 Piggy Bank symbols without any prizes to collect, you get a respin that may deliver cash coins and/or jackpot coins.
Golden Piggy Bank
The Golden Piggy Bank sits atop the grid and collects Cash Coins if there are no regular Piggy Bank collector symbols to collect them. The Golden Piggy Bank will grow in size as more cash coins are collected, but the size does not indicate the prize level. Instead, you may win a random prize between 10x and 5,000x your stake whenever a cash coin is collected by the golden piggy bank.
Scatter Symbols
You need 3 to 6 scatter symbols in view to trigger the Bonus Round choice screen in Piggy Blitz Disco Gold slot. This gives you the choice between Free Spinz or Blitz Spinz, or you can go for the Mystery Spinz option which means the game chooses for you.
Blitz Spins Bonus
The Blitz Spinz Bonus Round awards 5, 10, 15, or 20 free spins from 3, 4, 5, or 6 triggering scatters, respectively. Only blanks, Cash Coins, and Piggy Banks appear during this feature, and you can also land a 150x special Cash Coin. You’re guaranteed at least one Piggy Bank collector symbol per spin, and up to two Piggy Banks can land on each spin.
Free Spins Bonus
The Free Spinz Bonus Round gives you 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins from 3, 4, 5, or 6 triggering scatters, respectively. There is no cash coin collection in this feature, as only the top-tier diamond symbol, royal symbols, and scatters can land. You’ll benefit from a random win multiplier per free spin, and every 4 collected scatter levels up the bonus round with enhanced multiplier ranges and extra free spins. It works as follows:
- Level 1 (starting level) - multiplier range of x1, x2, or x3.
- Level 2 - multiplier range of x2, x4, or x6, and +10 free spins.
- Level 3 - multiplier range of x8, x10, or x15, and +10 free spins.
- Level 4 - multiplier range of x20, x30, or x50, and +10 free spins.

Our Verdict
While Piggy Blitz Disco Gold offers a decent experience, I felt more could have been done to visually differentiate it from its predecessor. The disco theme is evident, but the overall color scheme and vibe remain quite similar to the original game show setting. The symbols have been given a neon makeover though, which is a nice touch. I would have loved to see the disco-clad Piggy character take a more active role, perhaps collecting the unclaimed coins with some groovy dance moves, instead of relying on the golden piggy bank.
That said, the golden piggy bank is a clever addition that enhances the overall experience. It ensures that no coin prizes are wasted and rewards player loyalty with random prizes reaching up to 5,000x the stake. However, the fact that these random prizes can be as low as 10x is a drawback that can lead to disappointments. A progressively increasing jackpot would have been a more exciting prospect. Despite this, it's still a noticeable improvement over the original game.
The core math model remains largely unchanged, with comparable medium volatility and a similar top-tier RTP. The max win potential has seen a slight increase to 6,000x, up from 5,000x in the original. The most significant addition is the Free Spins Bonus, which feels somewhat out of place in a game primarily focused on coin prize collection. Given the original’s lukewarm reception, it’s understandable that there was an aim to broaden the appeal with a choice between 2 distinct bonuses.
The free spins round itself is decent, with the unique touch of landing only the top-tier diamond and royal symbols. While the multiplier boost is helpful, I found myself landing mostly royal symbols during my session. Ultimately, Piggy Blitz Disco Gold is objectively a better game than its predecessor, but it didn't quite leave a lasting impression on me. I'm not particularly drawn to glitzy, game show-style themes though, just to be clear. Players who enjoyed the original and appreciate the added features, however, will likely find plenty to enjoy in this disco-infused sequel.
